When Internet connectivity is broken the saving or loading of files can take up to one minute during which the program hangs and blocks any input. CPU usage is below 5% during this time. This issue is severe as in many developing countries internet access is not stable. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The delay I described occurs when the internet connection is broken or too slow.I guess OOo tries to link to that reference before opening the file.In the file responsible for this bug-post,I had four addresses which also contained the web address of the concerned party and email addresses. Then onwards, the file took very long to open.I guess one or two of those links were not fast reachable.I wish I had preserved this file.If I have it somewhere,I will attach it here. In the other experience I referred to,I had a long web document resource where I did not have a 'printable version' option.I did not like saving the webpage as it is,as the webpage contained a lot of ad material.I copied the text and accompanying images from firefox and pasted into writer. It pasted well enough, but I noticed the scrolling coming to a crawl.I saved the file and exited OOo and reopened the file. The file was opened slowly and again crawled in scrolling. This time I saved it in MSOffice format, opened the file in MSOffice even as it was loaded in OOo.The file was correctly saved in MSOffice(to the credit of OOo),it opened and displayed without a glitch or slowness in MSOffice, but it was very slow in OOo.The problem lay in the numerous illustrations which were images on a webpage. See in the attached file.I copy paste from a webpage. The images there were stored were stored as web-links rather then images, though when I pasted them, they were all displayed correctly. Now,each time I open it,OOo has to find their web-source or it cannot display them. Why it had to do that when it had the object itself? It could have saved the object and forgotten the source. This behaviour I guess causes problems when there are large number of pages and your connection is slow. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But this linking, not embedding seems to be part of this.I only attached to show that. I am still looking for the document I had problem with, saved somewhere in my memory. If I can attach that,I will duplicate and vote on the suggested bug reports. They seem to be on target. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Even if there is a remark in a calc cell mentioning a website, not any opearation on any webresource,OOo takes very long time to open the file. When one copies and pastes from a webpage from Firefox into writer,if the content is long,OOo becomes so burdened that it cannot scroll. If you save the content in *.doc format, that file opens easily in MSOffice. But OOo itself becomes so slow as to not respond sometimes.I had this experience in 'writer' some time ago,but now I feel that is linked to the phenonmenon described above. This may be a behaviour across all components. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
