With the 3.2 version it took a long time to save the document, but with DEV300_m77 it took only a few seconds. So it seems that the bug was fixed meanwhile. I can't test this in OO at the moment to see if this is actually what's happening, but there's certainly no online content in the Zotero Reference Marks that OO should be making network requests for. Zotero embeds some data in the Reference Marks that contains, among other things, URIs that happen to look like zotero.org links, but this shouldn't have anything to do with the OO saving process—it's just embedded data like any other.
