So you can create a hidden section in top of each document and assign a numbering style to the paragraph. That way you can isolate the problem to a hidden area in the document. Dirty workaround? The reset flag is missing after saving/closing the document. If the numbering becomes the second numbering in the document, it is possible to reset numbering in a way that stays. from content.xml: First list always is: text:list-item Following lists are: text:list-item text:start-value=1 I can only reproduce when lists are made with numbering styles - not default numbering. If it was fixed at some point, it is no longer fixed. This is a major problem for people using custom styles and either master documents on sections linking external files into a main file, including those of us putting together the OOo user guides from individual chapter files.
