The greek letter problem was also discussed in Issue 24331 , there I filed a
document containing an equation with all greek letters. I exported this then to
the .doc format : one can see easily which ones are working : only capital greek
letters are working which are similar to latin caracters, these are :
A B X E H I K M N O P T Z

I will attache the file greekletters.doc als with this issue

what about just copying the greek symbols from the private use area to the
"standard" one in opensymbol?

Can someone give a list of characters that get not displayed?
Or even better check (via Tools/Catalog) if only those characters are affected
that use the StarSymbol font. For example I suspect charcters like %ALPHA will
work fine because it usess the "Times New Roman" (because essentially it is a
latin letter as well) whereas %DELTA (which is a greek letter only and thus is
not available in Times New Roman) makes use of the StarSymbol font.

Also the problem might be that probably all of those charaxcters are located in
the "Private Use Area" of the font (see also Tools/Catalog using the Edit
Symbols dialog). If that would be the case there might by a work-around for the
problem:
It might be worthwhile to install a new font (not StarSymbol) that has all the
Greek characters in the non priavte use areas of the font (that's probably the
case for all fonts that are specialized for Greek). After having done this you
should use the Edit Symbol dialog and redefine all greek characters to use the
symbols from that new font instead of StarSymbol.
I think there might be a good chance that this will work.

It would be nice if someone who has this problem could drop a note here if this
works.

Thanks!

please see my comment added to Issue 24331 and the attached files.
I can add here that clicking on the formula in Word opens an Editor field above
the formular, which is grey. When scrolling the page using the scrollbar, then
the Editor field stays in place and the hatched formular is seen underneath.
When this editor window is exited by clicking somwhere else in the text, then
the formular is reduced to width zero and height is increased, basically one has
the impression that the formula has disappeared (see attached file
formulardoc2.doc)

Sorry, but what was the reason for targeting this bug for OO later? This brakes
one of the main abilities of the suite - MS Word export. And currently OO later
really means OO never.

MRU->TL: enable the object conversion of Math objects, then export the attached
.odt to WW8 format and open it in Word -> some of the greek letters are
displayed as square characters
