Hardcoded accelerators will disturb the whole accelerator feature. Further an synchron handling of accelerators can produce other errors (e.g. in case the shortcut for closing the application will be triggered). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I will inform Andreas to reject the patch. I think your suggestion: Can't the sinhala IM act like e.g. the hangul one and give a little pre-edit area when the first o is pressed and just not commit that letter until the next keyboard event arrives and decide then to commit ඔ or ඕ ? would be a far better solution. Could you please inform the submitter that we are not able to accomplish his request? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Currently I cannot see how we would be able to remove the asynchronous nature of our keyboard shortcut implementation (ctrl+q = application quit). The keyboard shortcut implementation is not able to see which command will be executed on a shortcut. cd-cmc: I think your current patch is a bad hack. It will break user configurations which want to map backspace to a different command. From my point of view this looks more like a problem of the IME which generates a backspace while typing. Why does the IME have to generate a backspace? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. So feel free to throw this out as WONTFIX, much better would be for the IM to not commit the o until the next character has been pressed and decide then what type of char to commit. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=217065 is the feature suggestion for this. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. We'll call (at the location illustrated by the yucky workaround patch) rView.KeyInput which... SfxViewShell::KeyInput in sfx2 which calls SfxViewShell::ExecKey_Impl in sfx2 which calls AcceleratorExecute::execute in svtools which will dispatch the backspace handler with... AsyncAccelExec* pExec = AsyncAccelExec::createOnShotInstance(xDispatch, aURL); pExec-execAsync(); which doesn't get dispatched until after the 2nd letter arrives, so instead of processing o backspace o we process o o backspace This could be considered a bloody silly thing for the IM to do, e.g. backspace rebound to skip backwards a word or something, but it's what it does. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
