However I believe it should work as there is a forced configuration option in alsa-kernel/pci/ac97/ac97_patch.c which specifically enables it. I'm still interested in hearing from anyone else with either an SP1300 or SP8000 for their experiences. Alsa version: 1.0.10rc1 alsa-lib version :1.0.10 kernel is 2.6.14-epios-r501 I've been thinking of posting to the alsa-devel list as I've been looking at the source and a small hack to ac97_patch.c enables a couple of extra options in alsamixer which work when selected but give a couple of run-time warnings when alsamixer is run. Unfortunately they're not the options I'm after... Ron --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop! [Alsa-user] Epia SP1300 (VIA 8237 with VIA1617A) 5.1 from jacks
Hi I've been trying for days now to get this to work, but it seems that no matter what I try I only get sound from the front L/R speakers. I can mix the other channels into the front L/R using .asoundrc but this isn't what I want. Has anyone had any luck with this? Cheers Ron --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
