I'm not 100% on it...

Can that error be ignored and you can still amdump then?

The DLE was constructed as an include/exclude but I think the problem is that 
combination of user and setgid?

Ah thanks. It's a rather large volume I'm looking at right now. So I need to be 
quite confident my setup will work.

many LTO6 tapes.

yes GNUTAR. I need to be sure I can also restore from non-Amanda environment... 
can I still do that changing to amgtar?

GNUTAR, you are not?

yes, amgtar use the same gtar binary, but it have more features and is 
more configurable than GNUTAR.
