I would reckon it's because you have tapecycle set to a number greater than 14 in your amanda.conf - If this is the case, amanda's going to ask for a new tape until it reaches this number. Looking back at one of your previous posts, you said: dumpcycle 1 week runspercycle 5 tapecycle 15 tapes If you set tapecycle to 14, amanda should ask for tape 001. Hope that helps, Simon.
