[AMRadio] WANT to buy SX-71 White Dial version

2010-05-03 Thread Les Zwiebel WB6ORZ
Wanted: a nice SX-71 white face model or the name of the seller of the
radio as pictured in the Hallicrafters Photos section at the Yahoo
Hallicrafters Group. That picture was taken at recent Bucks County ham fest.
For sentimental reasons I am searching for this model.
Tnx in advance.

Re: [AMRadio] So Cal AMers

2010-04-30 Thread Les Zwiebel WB6ORZ
Join us weekly, Bob, on 3.870 Wednesday eves, early check-ins around 7:30
PM PST. Covers all of California, plus we have many out of state check-ins from
all over the place, conditions permitting, and those are improving. It's
basically the Western section of AMI (AM International). Glad you found the
website.

I was trying to find out where and when to listen for this group. I have
found your webpage and I will be trying to see if I can hear any of you.

I live near Seattle and at the present time I can only hear the NW AM group
very weakly. Before the propagation went south I could copy some of them
  very well.

Re: [AMRadio] Technical Materiel Corporation prices

2008-06-24 Thread Les Zwiebel WB6ORZ
Interesting. Say, Hal, if you'd be so kind: what WAS the
price of the GPR-90 (and accessories, if you have that data
also)?

Keep us posted as you learn about the transmitters.
   Thanks in advance.

WANTED: I am trying to compile a list to share with everyone
of the original retail prices for TMC (Technical Materiel
Corporation) transmitters, amplifiers, and accesssories from
the 1950s and 1960s. So far, I have not found even one
original price except for the GPR-90 receiver. Help! Surely,
TMC prices were not THAT secret!!

[AMRadio] Advice please: Globe King trips GFI socket

2008-06-09 Thread Les Zwiebel WB6ORZ
Am restoring a 500C. The power supply trips the GFI. Filter caps have been
replaced. If the filtering circuit and caps have some slight inherent leakage,
should I bypass or eliminate them? Use a 3 wire to 2 wire adapter plug at the
wall? (I would prefer to keep it a 3-wire line.) Eliminate the GFI on that wall
socket? Anyone been down this road before?
Thanks in advance.

[AMRadio] WANT please: Documentation Simpson 260 Adapter "Communications Tester" #658

2005-12-18 Thread Les Zwiebel WB6ORZ
This unit clamps on the bottom of my 260 (Series 6) VOM. It is called
"Communications Tester" Model 658. It measures SWR -RF Power -% Mod -RFS. It
has a slide rule on it's face and a telescoping rod antenna. It has SO-239's on
either side, and jacks for RF out and also AM Monitor. It has scaling up to a
KW. Sadly, Simpson doesn't have any paper on it.
Thanks in advance for any info. at all.
Happy Holidays to all.
