Being a member is required. Then you need to login to the site. If you do not

Re: [AMRadio] ARRL Web Site

2010-05-11 Thread lafrieda
Yes- the new ARRL website isn't as user-friendly as the previous one, for it
took me quite awhile to find out where they were hiding their ARRL publications
such that one could easily retrieve previous QST articles.

Anyho- the path to ARRL publications is found under their Technology Tab, i.e.
http://www.arrl.org/technology.
Then once you are in this webpage, in the middle of the page - under ARRL and
Technology and The ARRL Laboratory - you will finally arrive at the line that
you are seeking, viz. " Periodicals Archive and Search"

All the Best,
Jim, N6MV

Re: [AMRadio] ARRL Web Site

2010-05-10 Thread Clarke, Tom AIR4.0P NATOPS
If you pick a "key word" that is not on their list, it will return a "not
found". It takes a little perseverance and cleverness to get to the desired
article, but it's there.

Yep, it still needs tweaking, but it is nice that the info is available to us.

I agree. There are many "orphaned" links, and it is not the easiest site to
navigate through. I understand it is new and the are working on it. They should
have done more testing before releasing the new site.
Anyway. try this link. I hope it helps.

By the way, I just bought a completely restored Heathkit DX-60 transmitter, and
I am exited about it. Got crystals and matching VFO on the way to. Here is the

Does anyone have a clue how to search for an old hanbook article on the new
ARRL web site?  Maybe you can't search as in the past for an old article.  I
want to download the 25 watt AM Modulator using 6BQ6 GT tubes from the 1948
ARRL Handbook.  The new web site is a joke.
