skipping some of my work and on the air operating. (not that the topics are

Well, we could discuss recommendations for who makes the best capacitors
and do you prefer square ones, round ones, metal encapsulated, or tubular
types and your favorite color of capacitor, and then gyrate around

Hi Todd,

Well, the gang certainly is NOT in the traditional AM window frequencies of
7290-, or 7295-KHz, that's for sure...!

I know because I've been honing-in some 40-meter oriented HB stuff here in
the shack, receiver-wise, and had to content myself with tweaking things up
tuned to (dare I say it...?!) SSB signals...!!!

More fun just to let our fingers do the talking ABOUT microphones, here on
the computer, than to actually use one...heck, with the demonstartion of all
this motor ability, everyone SHOULD really be on CW! Hi Hi.

Eeep! Another Todd! Run for the hills!

It's a very good question, and more to the point of 'you're either on the
air, or online talking about it'. The bad thing about the internet is that
it allows you to keep up with things during work hours (when you'd not
normally be on the air anyway).

Chatted with John KX5JT around 7160 yesterday through the interference and
static. W9AD joined in, and by the time we decided to sign out, conditions
had improved just in time for the band to take a dive.

Bob, if you can go below 7200 let's give it a go. BC stations are becoming
an issue around this time above there. I just fired up the station a few
minutes ago, been busy on the phone much of the day with biz and real estate
matters. Heading out now to see what's up.

Just threw out a single round of CQs on 7290-91 (just for you, Bob) and had
a nice contact with Pat WB2ENI. He had a nice S9+10 signal with his DX-40.
We chatted about trains and the northeast, mostly steam engines like the Big

signed just in time for RCI to sart dropping their carrier in there. Pat
mentioned trying to stir up some activity earlier, with no success.

So there ya go - 40ms in the afternoon, it really does work.
