[amsat-bb] Re: Rotor
Hi. A common problem with Win 7 that I've noticed is that if the software is a bit older and isn't started as administrator, it can't access the com ports. So you might want to try and right click on the program icon and choose run as administrator. Might solve the problemor not :-) 73 de SA3AER Henrik On 2010-08-07 21:33, Andreas Junge wrote: Wilse, has your com port number changed? [amsat-bb] Re: Rotor
Hi Wilse, tell a bit more details, please. What Windows 7 do you run, 32-bit or 64-bit? Has your PC a physical COM port or a PCI card with 1 or more COM ports or do you use a USB-to-Serial adapter? The USB-to-Serial adapters require Windows 7 compatible drivers. What is the COM port number of your port? You can check that with the Windows device manager, LPT and COM ports. I have no problems with rotor steering via a COM port under Windows 7, 32-bit and Vista 32- and 64-bit via physical ports and also via USB-to-Serial adapters (Prolific and FTDI). There is a link Vista and Windows 7 compatibility on my website www.dk1tb.de , Englisch page Downloads with detailed information. 73s, Erich, DK1TB - Original Message - From: Wilse Morgan wi...@centurytel.net To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Sent: Saturday, August 07, 2010 2:55 AM Subject: [amsat-bb] Rotor I just changed computers also fro XP to7. [amsat-bb] AMSAT Board Candidates' Bios
Don't want this to turn into a political rant thread ... But as I peruse the biographies of the fine folks who are running for AMSAT's BOD, I wish the current board would just quickly meet and vote to increase the number of board members to accommodate ALL the candidates. What a marvelous amount of talent and experience ... It will be a shame to exclude ANY of these fine people. Just Clint's opinion, of course. Clint, K6LCS ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Hi Rick, Something is amiss. I caught the tail end of the pass and didn't have to time to figure it out. I did try sending transmitter ON commands, but doubt they got in... I'll catch it next pass over eastern US. 73, Mark N8MH At 04:09 PM 8/8/2010 -0500, Rick - WA4NVM wrote: Hi All, No one in the Memphis area heard the low pass of AO-51 around 2053Z today.
