[amsat-bb] kb2m/k2e schedule
I will be heading to PA this afternoon after work. So it looks like I won't be making anymore NJ k2i contacts. I just worked the second half of an AO-07 pass as k2i and got no takers. We plan on working with k2m for a few FM and SSB passes tomorrow morning from PA. We will be in DE for the 12:36 FO-29 pass, 14:10 AO-27, and the 14:21 FO-29, and maybe the 15:40 AO-07. All local time. 73 Jeff kb2m ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? Join now to support the amateur satellite program! [amsat-bb] tilt over tripod
Many thanks to the many who sent me their suggestions for a tip over tripod. Attached is picture of the tripod for the satellite antennas. Now lots of digging and concrete mixing to do. Any all additional suggestions are appreciated. 73 Bob W7LRD___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? [amsat-bb] AO-27 Pass 2023 UTC
Hi Guy's, I think I was the only station from CN85 working this particular pass. I didn't hear any other station from CN85. I'm kind of taken back when some unidentified station identified the CN85 station as always having problems and he doesn't know what he's doing or having problems with. You know what, maybe your are right. But then I could hear the sat very well, I could hear my station identify myself, and I did very much not try to step on any one already in communication that had control of the sat and waited my turn until it cleared. I would have very much preferred to have an email or a call from someone offering to help a station that's relatively new to sats and act as an elmer rather than cast the aspersions as I heard. I am new to sats and I'll not apologize for that. I do have not have a lot of experience with the Icom 910 but I've tried to assemble a reasonable satellite station. More help would be appreciated than criticized over the air. 73 Joe KT7E CN85 ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? hi Joe, they were probably jealous of your great call sign. thanks for learning me a new word, aspersions. hihi. maybe you could describe your station setup and all the journeymen/journeywomen on here (not me) can give some suggestions and help. keep on rockin' on the sats, and have fun. amsat and satellites are a blast. from just down the road in cn81,Robert k f zero g ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Hi Joe, You just keep it up! If you hear yourself on the Sat you are doing fine. I would even go a step further and say play with the Sat. Reduce your power and see what happens. Change your doppler settings and see how your signal drifts. Learn as much as possible and most of all have fun and yes if you have questions, just ship me an email. Been around for while. If somebody has a concern or problem and they don't have the simple courtesy to contact you in person via email or phone call, just plainly ignore it. You are a licensed ham radio operator and you should be proud of discovering new aspects of the hobby. Keep it up! 73, Stefan VE4NSA On Fri, Jul 6, 2012 at 4:07 PM, Joe Batty j...@rocketmail.com wrote: Hi Guy's, I think I was the only station from CN85 working this particular pass. Seems to me you are the better op. Sounds like you were doing everything right. It was the other station who needs a refresher on unidentified transmissions. Lady I heard they were illegal. Fortunately, the elmers far out number the jerks. Enjoy the birds. It's a great part if the hobby. 73 Sent from my iPod Rick Tejera Editor, SACnews Saguaro Astronomy Club www.saguaroastro.org K7TEJ On Jul 6, 2012, at 17:23, Stefan Wagener wagen...@gmail.com wrote: Hi Joe, You just keep it up!
