Hi Fran EA1JM and All Many things can be the cause 1-Check up your receiving setup ! listen to beacon before you transmit . 2- some time the sat not changed to FM mode (happened few time ) instead of the schedule stats so. 3- check the beacon to see which mode is on. 4-AFC in downlink shift the frequency so fast ,so deactivate it until you hook with strong down link signal. 5-Never Try to work FM satellite in IC-910 sat-mode . IMHO IC-910 sat mode is perfect only for Xponder satellite. 6- check volume level! and check if the tone on the VHF and not on UHF.(common mistake to mix uplink tone with downlink tone) 7-Check Main and Sub External speaker setting combination Hope this help! 73 de Nader ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Hi Fran & all In none satellite mode use: Main mini din for tx audio and ptt (same for 1k2 and 9k6 ) and the sub mini din for rx (this can be configer for 1k2 or 9k6 baud) (ground from both to sheld the signal) If u want to use main band only (eg in ISS ie1k2 ) disconnect the sub and supply the audio to PC from headphone jake. At HO-68 Orbit #1205 Wisp started to upload a file number 161 The file 161 partial uploaded .on the next pass orbit # 1206 Wisp try to upload what left from the file but the sever on satellite denied existance of file # 161 !! and shift to upload the next file #162 (see 2nd photo) Again the Directory was empty ??? I uploaded 2 or 3 messages yesterday and 1 messages today file # 160 . As you can see this in the photo #2 .The satellite was accepted the file. I requested the directory as my friend Mike DK3WN did !but it was empty! see this on the 3rd photo . where the Multipsk on other PC monitoring the Hope-1 satellite downlink by soundcard. I was trying to work with a pair of virtual ports to connect Wisp and Mixw! The com pair failed to connect these software!!! I found the virtual connector device at Virtual Serial port Emulator program (VSPE) can do this task nicely . Wisp send packet to MixW and Mixw send it to soundcard and keying the Rig via existing port. So the Tx line is working well between Wisp--> MixW--> Soundcard--> Rig The next step is to test the Rx line between Rig--> Soundcard--> MixW--> Wisp. So with out Hardware TNC could it works?!! Hi All My 1st Questions is - What the reason of QUIETING in Echo-51 sat? A strong signal will fully quiet an FM receiver, while a weak one will be quite noisy. A "Full quieting" report is given to a signal which exhibits no background noise or hiss. Signal reports are often given in terms of "percent quieting" to give the transmitting station a better idea of the signal quality. Remember that when using a repeater there are two communication paths at work -- the path from the transmitting station to the repeater and the path from the repeater to the receiving station. Either one of these paths can exhibit noise due to a weak signal. If the receiving station has a strong S-meter indication but the transmitting station sounds noisy, the transmitting station is probably weak into the repeater. Remember that the signal strength indicated by your S meter is due to the repeater and not the transmitting station. A frequency modulated transmitter used on the VHF/UHF amateur bands should be set for a maximum frequency deviation of 5 kHz with full modulation. Unlike SSB transmitters, the signal strength of an FM signal is independent of modulation level. That is, a dead carrier produces just as much power as a fully-modulated signal. Excessive modulation of an FM transmitter does not improve the reception of the signal and often degrades it. On the other hand, inadequate FM deviation causes weak received audio. The level of audio heard on the receive end is relatively independent of received signal strength. This means that changing transmitter power does not affect the loudness of the audio at the receive end. What I have understood ……. ANUSAT carrying an Amateur Radio payload was launched on Monday April 20 from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Satish Dhawan space centre.
