Re: [amsat-bb] Thank you for the Artsat Invader QSL card
Hello, Andy, de ji1izr/Masahiro. I am happy to hear that you've received the card from Japan. I've also another one for me. As you noticed, the position of your station when you heard the signal from the ARTSAT is indicated on the card. This means the card is the unique one in the world! I've got the comment from the designer, Mr. Ise, so I translated that here: "I am happy to hear that our card delighted you, moreover, you framed it and hang it beside the print of David Hockney!" Please keep to watch the satellite. The team is now trying to start up the digi-talker system not only over Japan but over other countries. ** Masahiro Sanada de ji1izr Hiratsuka-city Kanagawa,Japan ji1izr_1...@nifty.com ji1...@jarl.com ji1...@jamsat.or.jp web: http://ji1izr.atnifty.com/ blog: http://ji1izr.air-nifty.com/ ** ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. To the ARTSAT team: Thank you so much for the Artsat Invader QSL card I received this morning (http://artsat.jp/invader_qsl_card) Please convey my special thanks to the artists naolkl lse and wataru kobara who designed the card. [amsat-bb] Thank you
Thank you to all of the hams that helped to make the ARRL Teachers' Institute II a success. I had 8 teachers this past week at the Dayton Amateur Radio Assoc. club house learning how to set up and operate a satellite station, and by the first part of Day 3 all 8 had made their first satellite qso! By the week's end many had made multiple contacts with the satellite community. Thank you for your patience and stick-with-it-ness with this group. They are very excited to get home and set up their station, and even more excited to share satellites with their students. 73 Matt, N8MS ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. This is a quick note to thank Paul, KB5MU, the gentleman behind the listma...@amsat.org curtain for all the hard work to get the AMSAT e-mail lists operational. Today was a day of headlines for AMSAT. Paul got things moving. Thank you for what you do for AMSAT! -- 73 de JoAnne K9JKM k9...@amsat.org Editor, AMSAT News Service ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Thank You to the ARISSat-1 Team
I would like to send a personal Thank You to AMSAT and the ARISSat-1 Team. You overcame an enormous amount of challenges in order to make this happen. I am personally thankful for all of your hard work. From a technical standpoint, you had to manage a design change (suitsat -> arissat), the new design, materials, fabrication, assembly and software. From a scheduling standpoint, you had to deal with volunteer schedules, NASA, the Russian Federal Space Agency and all sorts of other events. From a logistics standpoint, you had to move materials all over the planet so that everyone could do their part. And keep in mind, the volunteers making this happen mostly have full-time jobs, families and many other things to do :-) When I tell non-ham (non-Amsat people) that I know how: """AMSAT built a satellite 'in a garage', had it delivered to the ISS and it's now in orbit sending down pictures, yadda, yadda""", you should see the looks on peoples faces!! I get the goose bumps just thinking about it. It is truly an amazing feat and an outstanding accomplishment for AMSAT. As far as the failures are concerned, I will defer to a magnet that I have on my workbench that says: "Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm". [amsat-bb] Thank You
I would thank everyone who commented on my question about the diplexer. The discussion opened up some new thoughts where, had I not read about duplexers I may have been kicking myself in the rear. Hopefully if weather holds I will have everything going ! Thanks again to everyone and I hope to eyeball some of you at Dayton ! Mike N8GBU ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Thank you for the QSO's during Demo
I wanted to post a quick thank you to a few stations who were able to work me during a Satellite Demonstration on Thursday evening. The Isothermal Amateur Radio Club is located in Rutherford County, NC which is one of the three counties where I work. Thursday was our third club meeting and I was asked to do a short program. I hope I did Satellite operations justice and I hope to hear a couple of those guys on the birds one day. In the meantime, I would like to thank the following stations for making a contact with me. - N8RO - ND9M - KB0RZD - KD8KSN - K0TWB We had 5 or 6 there for the demonstration which was about an hour prior to the Isothermal Amateur Radio Club Meeting. We had a really nice 60 degree pass and it was a comfortable evening to be outside. I think we had about 18 for the regular club meeting and presentation. Thanks to those who offered advice for presentations and putting on a demonstration... 73's, Michael, K4MOA ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. [amsat-bb] Thank you for answering my questions re: TS-2000X performance on 23cm band - ?
I want to thank everyone who replied to my questions regarding the TS-2000x. All responses were very helpful. TS-2000x owners seem to be a very satisfied owners. Tnx & 73's Wayne WA7NE -Original Message- From: amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org [mailto:amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org] On Behalf Of Perry Yantis Sent: Thursday, April 23, 2009 9:37 AM To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Subject: [amsat-bb] TS-2000X performance on 23cm band - ? I have one of the early ts200x's and I have had no problems on 1.2 ghz. I mainly us it for the satellites but also use it for the vhf contests and it has always worked fine. I have consistantly worked many in Ohio on 1.2 ghz with just a M2 at about 30 ft. I have also heard some others outside of Ohio during band openings (rare but it does happen).; I don't know where you got this idea that the receive was bad on these rigs. The radio does have a built in preamp. I leave it turned OFF for hf because it makes too much noise. I leave it ON for vhf, and uhf because it does improve the ssb signals. On 1.2 the preamp is ALWAYS on. Perry WB8OTH ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? Join now to support the amateur satellite program!
