I won't give out my exact life member number, but rounded to hundreds is 2200. It was issued in 1997. I then decided to vote for the youngest person but ages were not listed. My fall back criteria when all else fails is to vote for the cutest woman but for obvious reasons that was not possible. Always makes me wonder, do people really not care, or does the board always do such a wonderful job that everyone is so happy no matter who is elected to the board? Did all of the people who complain about AMSAT and the lack of this or that satellite or feature or they way they are built or when do we get another HEO or how someone failed once, did they all vote? Seems to be true of anything anymore, only 10% of our homeowners showed up for the annual meeting. 5% of those had complaints that they only voice once a year at the annual meeting. I got a ballot... Why would I care? I became a (European) LM about 15-20 years ago... I have been ignored on at least three occasions and rejected on 2 more when trying to volunteer for technical work. We streamed the entire symposium in Chicago, granted it was audio only, but a lot of it depends on the hotels internet, this year BATC even warned that they might not be able to live stream if the hotel connection wasn't good. Last year they tried streaming the General Meeting, I caught the first bits, it was done with an iPad which may not be the best choice, streaming to the AMSAT Echolink reflector requires a couple of backdoor things to avoid timeouts and interference form other stations as we do with the ARISS contacts and I don't believe that bit of software is available for iPad. Also the hotel in San Jose may not have had good internet. I like the idea of live stream but I'm probably in the minority.
