[amsat-bb] Re: Request for a file of amateur satellite frequencies
Hi, Not quite the answer to the question or containing the information that was being pursued The UDS_Satellite_Database is a very comprehensive list of satellites launched or constructed with other background information, I am mentioning it because it is in an EXCEL format and could therefore be used as tool and starting point to edit and or add the information required. I did attempt to do something on these lines a few years ago especially as on our 80 metre Amast-UK net information we usually get asked about satellite details. The problem was and still is, managing such a list bearing in mind that we now have many cubesats being launched. Quite a number are not listed or classed as an Amatuer Satellite status but still have many followers - from what I gleam on the BBS. The source and release of information on the status or operation of some of the satellites has been very difficult to pursue, thus keeping any proposed file updated is perhaps beyond its manager at the moment. Regards Ken Eaton GW1FKY Amsat- UK Amast NA Ps. I trust that all goes well for the gathering in Florida and that the approaching hurricane does not cause to many problems especially with travel and the proposed tours. ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: Request for a file of amateur satellite frequencies
Hi All, Many thanks to everyone who responded to my plea! As a result of it, with JE9PEL's agreement, we have created an abstract from his master list of all amateur satellites so as to include just those ones that are active. It is available here http://www.uk.amsat.org/?page_id=11251 The benefit of this is that it fits nicely on a single sheet of A4 paper and can therefore easily be stuck on the wall of the shack right behind the radio. I know that this is an old fashioned concept but it has already helped me work out the likely spacecraft when looking at signals showing up the waterfall display on the screen using an FCD+ and SDR# The challenge will, of course, be to keep it uptodate and hopefully someone will be willing to take on the task of setting up and maintaining a proper database. best wishes Graham G3VZV ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: Request for a file of amateur satellite frequencies
Graham, I thought there was a request in the 2012 IARU Satellite Forum held at Guildford for a volunteer to create such a database ? I don't know if any volunteers have come forward yet. I am not aware of anything online that gives concise information on one page as to which satellites have been launched, the frequencies they use and which are still operational. As Peter has mentioned the AMSAT-DL website provides a really excellent reference. It does though require you following the links to find Downlink frequencies. Uplinks aren't always given on the linked pages and arguably Uplinks such as control channels use frequencies just as much as Downlinks. Of course determining operational status could be problematic. 73 Trevor M5AKA --- On Wed, 24/10/12, Graham Shirville g.shirvi...@btinternet.com wrote: From: Graham Shirville g.shirvi...@btinternet.com Subject: [amsat-bb] Request for a file of amateur satellite frequencies To: AMSAT BB amsat-bb@amsat.org Date: Wednesday, 24 October, 2012, 15:46 Hi All, This may seem odd but I cannot seem to locate any website that has a simple list of ACTIVE satellites with data showing: Name ID number Up/Down Frequencies Modes or modulation info maybe output power and?? other info It would be a really useful checksheet to have by you when operating portable and, I am told that, if it were created in an xml format, it could be searchable by machines as well as humans! Dear amigos : I am new to this list. My very good friend CO6CBF Hector asked me to make a comeback into the ham satellites world. I found an ECHO 70 KLM transceiver that was in bad shape, but that could be repaired. Now it is receiving , but on transmit the power is only 1 Watt. The receive sensitivity is not great, but enough for Hector to make a two way contact with it... Hector has a very good 70 cms band antenna system that really helped. The 70 cms signal level at the input of the first of two output filters is 10 Watts, measured with professional test instruments, but after the filters there is only 1 Watt. I suggested to Hector that he blew hot air over the ceramic trimmers of the two filters in order to remove humidity ... It worked on one of the filters... now there is good power output on the 435 megaHertz segment , but 432 megaHertz is still at the low power output level. FYI, we are not authorized to operate on the 432 megaHertz segment used by the Oscar 7 AO7 ancient satellite... but do have permission to operate on the 435 megaHertz segment that other satellites use. Any information about the ECHO 70 KLM transceiver that can be found will be most useful, as once the rig is in good working conditions it will be used frequently from my EL83td grid square location in downtown Havana, and possibly by mini dx satellite expeditions to other nearby grid squares too. Good luck John The cape team will be listing for you nick -Original Message- From: amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org [mailto:amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org] On Behalf Of John Klingelhoeffer Sent: Friday, June 08, 2012 7:52 PM To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Subject: [amsat-bb] Request for reception reports: AubieSat-1 Amateur radio control operators will attempt to change the transmission mode of AubieSat-1 this weekend to increase the quantity of telemetry. This increased telemetry will provide data to indicate how well solar cell protection is working. It should also provide additional onboard housekeeping information. Telemetry reception reports would be appreciated. Transmissions are CW and formats and frequencies have been published previously on AMSAT-BB. Downlink is on 70 cm. Reception results posted here to the BB will enable data to be shared with everyone. The orbits when commanding is planned are as follows: 09 June: 20:49-21:00 (MDT) Max Elev 50 deg 10 June: 10:09-10:23 (MDT) Max Elev 83 deg 11 June: 10:29-10:43 (MDT) Max Elev 61 deg Commanding will be attempted from north central United States. [amsat-bb] Re: Request
All of that information is available to you, just in 2 separate locations. The sat name, launch date, frequency/mode, and keps are all at the amsat.orgwebsite, and the activity can be found at oscar.dcarr.org. As far as getting the information updated on these sites with the new satellite, you must remember that they are both volunteer run, and the updates have to fit in the schedule of the volunteers who run the sites. 73 de KE5GDB On Sat, Sep 19, 2009 at 8:42 AM, Ben Jackson b...@innismir.net wrote: http://oscar.dcarr.org? -- Ben Jackson - b...@innismir.net - www.innismir.net Sent from my Mobile Device Andrew Rich wrote: Can we get a web page that shows Sat name Lauch date Active in last 24 hours Frequency / mode. [amsat-bb] Re: Request cross test of satellite prediction. Thanks
Joe, I used the AMSAT web site to check your numbers ( http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/tools/predict/). Enter the coordinates you gave and choose next 30 passes or so to look ahead into the future. The first passes of the day seem to be within +- 1 minute of your predictions for 50, 51, 27, and 16. ISS is about 4 minutes off, so you might want to update your keps for that one. I didn't go beyond the first passes of June 15. As the textbooks say, that is an exercise left to the reader. 73 de AJ4MJ On Wed, Jun 10, 2009 at 6:49 PM, RFI-EMI-GUY rhyol...@nettally.com wrote: Could some kind sole with a trusted program please run some or all of the satellites below for the date June 15, 2009 for the coordinates for Virgin Gorda BVI (listed below) and cross check my sample results below?
