Garmin handheld units give grid squares and indicate directions.
If you want one that talks, possibly not.

i think avmap unit  might do that HRO sells themthey had  some  packet 
compatibility

nearly all   gps   units will give   driving directions  and  all will   show  
lat longdunno  bout grid squares   but maybe  avmap does

An iphone will do all that with the addition of the iBCNU APRS app which 
will display lat long and grid.

The Garmin 205 and 255 I have both will give lat/long if you go to the 
Where am I? screen under tools. This is the same screen that has the 
option to show the nearest hospital, fire dept, or gas station I think.
