[amsat-bb] VO52

2012-05-05 Thread K4FEG
I concur with the previous postings, VO52 was on both of the "morning"
passes over the US so far, and I had to make about a 5.4 khz adjustment
in my doppler to match up my uplink and downlink.

the bird is still "drifting" frequency but is easy to follow.

I am very HAPPY to hear it back on this morning!
73 all lets enjoy the bird!

[amsat-bb] VO52 work great

2012-03-14 Thread Eugenio Piluso
Hi All,
during the last orbit (37097) over the Europe I have QSO with i8CVS and iZ7HZR.
The signal in downlink are very strong S6-8. As RX front end I use an SSB
electronic transverter LT2S and 4+4 RHCP yagi (home made). For the uplink 6+6
LHCP yagi (home made) and 50W.
I completely agree with the comments of the i8cvs about the Amsat-India and
ISRO lesson.

Thank you again to the Indian dear friend

[amsat-bb] VO52 not heard @ 0245 UTC pass

2012-03-13 Thread Patrick STODDARD (WD9EWK/VA7EWK)
Hi!

I was outside for the 0245 UTC VO52 pass here in central
Arizona (DM43), and heard nothing from the transponder
or the CW beacon. That was a 74-degree pass here,
which should have been easy to copy.

Good to hear the Indian Goverment is
paying full attention to the resuscitation of
VO52. I wish the technical team all the best
in there recovery efforts.

[amsat-bb] VO52 and QRP FM

2011-12-03 Thread andy thomas
This is an important debate in difficult times.

I am with G7HIA on this one, namely that *** if there is no damage to the
satellite *** a QRP (below 5w handy) operation might be considered to be
feasible on a centre frequency.

It is not our bird to give permission. There are of course two transponders on
board.

If permission were given ONLY for QRP in effect this means that WE must police
this. It would be for us to discorage alligators.

(Technically alligators can already use the bird anyway but don't).

[amsat-bb] VO52 and verticals

2011-06-09 Thread John Geiger
Has anyone had success getting into VO52 using a vertical, omnidirectional
antenna on the uplink. I have a nice M2 2M9SSB for 2m but only have a
dualband J pole to cover UHF with and wonder if I could get into VO52 with
it for my uplink antenna.

[amsat-bb] VO52 OK??

2010-04-20 Thread John Geiger
Is VO52 doing ok? Got on a pass a few minutes ago (0330Z) which was a long
lasting one here (80 degrees max elevation) and called CQ repeatedly. Didn't
hear a single other station on.

2009-09-02 Thread Dale Hershberger
I was on VO 52 on the last pass. Excellent downlink signal. This is
another satellite that is under utilized. I heard my downlink great.
To bad I was the only one on.
