Tom
Thank you. I downloaded it on my XP, thinking I'm good. Nope, had 10
problems. I don't think they were causing me any troubles as they all were
after the last 0 I had forgotten a coma before description on some and no
space after last comma on others before description. This will come in
handy.

 Thank You 73 John KC0BMF

 Hi,

Thanks to Alan WA4SCA for doing exhaustive testing and letting me know the
program had a very subtle and almost imperceptible problem on Windows 7 (it
did not work at all). I believe the problem has been fixed - sorry about
 that.

I also tested it on the only working XP computer I have - A MacBook Pro
running XP on a Virtual Machine under MacParallels 9. It worked there so I
am guessing it may work on an real XP computer with .Net 4.0 installed.

Re: [amsat-bb] Doppler.Sqf Editor for SatPC32

2014-05-29 Thread Thomas Doyle
Hi Bjorn,

When you enter a new line it appears at the bottom of the list. When
the 'Save' button is clicked the list is sorted by satellite name, saved
to disk and then reloaded into the program. At that point the list you see
in the grid should be sorted by sat name as well as the file.

I did experiment with having it sort the list right after entering the new
line but found it a little confusing as the new line appeared to disappear.
I also found that often I was entering more than one new entry for a
satellite at the same time. It seemed a little easier if the new entries
stayed together at the bottom of the list rather than disappearing one at
a time.

I am fairly sure this is how it works. If this is not the case or I did not
answer your question let me know.

 Hi Thomas

I have found the following issue.

Your tool saves the lines like this:
 SO-50, 436795, 145850, FM, FM, NOR, 0, 0,

note the empty spaces before the data.

If I select this sat, the modes on my TRX are not updated, but when i
 change the line to this:
 SO-50,436795,145850,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,

 It works perfectly..

The empty spaces must be removed before all data.

Re: [amsat-bb] Doppler.Sqf Editor for SatPC32

2014-05-28 Thread Thomas Doyle
Jan,

I wish it were possible but as far as the Doppler.sqf file is concerned the
only useful piece of information in the tle files is the satellite name.
The rest is just identification numbers and a mathematical description of
the orbit. It could be a school bus or a cubesat, all you can tell from the
Tle data is where it is and where it is going. What is needed is a machine
readable list of satellite names and the frequency/mode data. I was
actually working on it using the almost perfect satellite information page
on the old AMSAT-NA website. Unfortunately the information was scattered
over a large number of nice looking pages on the new site.

Re: [amsat-bb] Doppler.Sqf Editor for SatPC32

2014-05-28 Thread Andrew Glasbrenner

Take a look at http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/satslist.htm or
http://www.dk3wn.info/satellites.shtml as alternatives (both linked from
http://www.amsat.org/?page_id=179).

The old AMSAT page you mentioned was a complete PITA to maintain, especially at
10-20 satellites a launch, and decaying orbits and dying cubes and such.

If you or anyone else want to build a table or spreadsheet that we can host on
the new page, I'll post it, but I will need long-term help to maintain it. I
took over the maintenance of the old sat status pages before my current job,
and more importantly, my two harmonics.
