Wait, (before you start to pull your hairs out,) I think I found something wrong with
this test. Someone changed my file! Let me run some more testing and let you know.
Thanks.

What does the General Summary say about the other lines? It should show
how many were corrupt or ignored (unwanted).

RE: [analog-help] Analog report did not show port 443 hits from IIS log files

2002-03-29 Thread Lou, Wendy W

Thanks for responding so quickly.

Good suggestion, I did try it. I took 10 lines from a log file plus the 4 lines
starting with # at the top of the log file. Out of the 10 lines 3 are port 80 and the
rest are 443 hits. All the hits have result code of 200 (successful). I ran analog
against it and my result shows 3 successful hits.

Any suggestion what I should try next? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Analog isn't ignoring SSL hits. You can verify this by
taking 3 or 4 such lines, and the 4 lines starting with # at the start of
your log, and running Analog against that short log file.

Analog uses those # lines at the start of the log to figure out the
correct LOGFORMAT, and it treats the s-port field, which records 80 for
http requests and 443 for SSL requests, as %j. If you have a custom
LOGFORMAT directive, it might be only looking at port 80 requests, but you
should get a warning message about corrupt log entries.
