[android-developers] Hello I want to publish my first App and have a few questions

2016-08-14 Thread Tobias
I was busy learning and developing my first hobby app project in the last
few months which is almost ready for release.
I plan to include ads with AdMob if/when the app reaches enough downloads
to make it profitable. Then I would need to register a small business in my
country (Germany).
Also a inapp purchases to remove the ads are planned, and further an ingame
coin system where you can buy additional coins through ingame purchases.

Now my questions:

1. When I publish the app as a free app in the beginning, can I include and
add inapp-purchases anytime after the release?
2. Can I change my Developer Name that is shown in the Play Store?
3. What account information do I have to specify when I register for the
Google Play Developer Console and does something need to be changed after I
register my small business (/is it changable)?
4. Is what I plan to do generally possible or did I miss something (I mean
to add business information after the release and make the app profitable)?
:)

I would be really thankful if you could help me (as I could not find any
Google support yet)! :)

[android-developers] Hello, I need an advice regarding my game publishing on Google Play.

2016-05-19 Thread Сергей Кальманович
Hello.

I'm new to the Google Play development and don't know all the details
regarding publishing on Google Play. I'm creating my game alone, and have
to go through all the procedures by myself to learn how it works in
practice.

I created a standard Google Play Developer account some time ago, but
didn't create the merchant account yet. I'm still developing my game, and
thinking about publishing its demo version soon. The problem is that I
don't know where to find any info regarding the matter, so a have some
questions. The final version of the game will be paid (but without any
in-app purchases or ads), but demo, obviously, will be free. So, my
questions are:

(1) Is it acceptable to publish free demo version the game when the full
version is not ready yet?
(2) Can I publish the free demo version without creating the merchant
account, then finalize the game, create merchant account, and publish the
full version?
(3) What % of full game's content must the free demo have to be approved?
(4) How exactly Google approves submitted apps?

Any direction on where can I find the answers, or actual answers are
welcome.
Thanks in advance.

[android-developers] Hello World! I've decided to start dabbling in Android Development, mainly to get more out of my personal devices. If anyone has tips on getting started let me know!

2016-05-15 Thread freephone281
After several disappointing attempts at finding a File Explorer capable of
accessing EVERY file and partition of my S5's internal storage in a Windows
environment, I've decided to install Android Studio and check out their
Monitor feature to see if it is able to do this. I read there is a File
Explorer feature in there somewhere so hopefully it is robust and sees
everything.

At some point in the future I might actively register and try my hand at
publishing an app, but that really isn't my primary goal right now.

I'm mainly looking for tips on how I can get the most out of my device
using Android Studio from an end-user perspective. I've read the entire AS
guide online, but every single line was about coding and compiling, etc.
which isn't a surprise honestly, but I just figure someone out there knows
a few features to recommend for my case.

Another thing I'd like to get into is somehow creating a ROM directly from
my internal storage or using a TWRP backup. This way I can share various
stages of my current installation with others without having to become a
fully fledged ROM developer.

[android-developers] Hello. I am Japanese. Is it possible to divide View used using a conditional expression within a xml file?

2013-06-03 Thread android.makilette
Hello.
I am Japanese.
Is it possible to divide View used using a conditional expression within
a xml file?
The boolean value used by a conditional expression wants then to use
what the java side defines.
Thank you for your consideration.

That depends on the scope and difficulty of the app, and the skill and

How about you ignore the call since a) since you're supposed to be in
traffic you're not supposed to be on your phone and b) if you're really in
a movie answering your phone would make you a douche =P

[android-developers] Hello everyone, what i have done so far regarding passing a ListView from one activity to another

2012-04-01 Thread Soyer
Hello everyone,

i posted a question about passing a listview from one activity to
another and this is what i did so far..

the first activity is this:

  Bundle bundle = new Bundle(1);

bundle.putStringArrayList("fromLat", fromLat);

Intent intent1=new
Intent(piecesActivity.this,ttsActivity.class);

intent1.putStringArrayListExtra("fromLat", fromLat);

startActivity(intent1);
   startActivityForResult(intent1, 2);

in The Second Activity is:

 ArrayList fLat = new ArrayList ();

Intent intent=new Intent();
 fLat=intent.getStringArrayListExtra("fromLat");

System.out.println("=38"+fLat);

and in the second activity i am trying to make the list as a
text_to_speach:

@Override
public void onClick(View v) {

  if (fLat!=null && ((CharSequence) fLat).length()>0) {
   Toast.makeText(ttsActivity.this, "Saying: " + fLat,
Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
   tts.speak(fLat, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null);
  }

i don't know why the second activity is giving me NullPointerException
(the fLat is returning Null) and the .speak method is not accepting a
list view... :S

I really need an advice...any Idea will be very appreciated.

[android-developers] Hello Everyone, Is there anyway we can pass a listView from one activity to another

2012-04-01 Thread Soyer
I am trying to pass a list view from one activity to another and use
it as a Text_to_speech.

I converted the list view to a string (Using toString()) in the first
activity and did work, but it's not so convenient since i can't
manipulate the elements in the list(I can't use them)...i thought of
convert the String back to a listview but i thing no such method can
do that.

Any ideas ?

Sorry... Didn't notice your ArrayAdapter constructor... You have more the
correct NUMBER of arguments, but you are specifying the layout... not the
id of the textview.

If your textview looks like this:

then the second parameter in your constructor should be R.id.my_textView

Re: [android-developers] Hello everyone, i couldn't figure out what this error in the logcat means!!!

2012-03-22 Thread Justin Anderson
Did you bother to look at the documentation? An ArrayAdapter constructor
takes more than just one argument... One of them happens to be the id of a
text view:

http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/ArrayAdapter.html#ArrayAdapter%28android.content.Context,%20int%29

[android-developers] Hello everyone, i couldn't figure out what this error in the logcat means!!!

2012-03-22 Thread Soyer
03-22 06:23:21.295: E/AndroidRuntime(1941):
java.lang.IllegalStateException: ArrayAdapter requires the resource ID
to be a TextView

the problem is in this couple of lines:

  mNewDevicesArrayAdapter = new ArrayAdapter(this,
R.layout.textviewlayout);

// Find and set up the ListView for newly discovered devices
   ListView newDevicesListView = (ListView)
findViewById(R.id.new_devices);
//TextView newDevicesListView = (TextView)
findViewById(R.id.title_paired_devices);
   newDevicesListView.setAdapter(mNewDevicesArrayAdapter);

now when i try to set the arrayadapter for a list view, it says that
the arrayadapter requires a textview, and this message appear asking
to assign an ID for the textView though the ID is assigned, so i did
is i put the textview in a separate file, however the arrayadapter is
still assigned to a list view...when i try to assign it to a textview,
the method setAdapter won't be in the list of the methods supported by
the textview element.

You can do whatever you want "next". At this point, your phone will
behave in many respects like your emulator:

- Use adb logcat, DDMS, or the LogCat view in Eclipse to examine LogCat
- Set breakpoints in Eclipse
- Etc.

adb logcat does not cause anything to appear on the phone, just as it
does not cause anything to appear in the emulator.

You need to have the "USB Debugging" setting enabled in the Settings
app on the device.

If you are using Windows, you also need to have the ADB USB driver
installed (see http://developer.android.com/sdk/oem-usb.html).

What more did you want? Anyone who's programmed in Java for more than
a few days should have seen this exception: you've got a null
reference somewhere, you're trying to deference it.. This means that
something in your source code is not being set correctly. For
example, you might not have allocated space for some variable, you
might not have checked the return value from some function, etc..

I'm having a sense of deja vu all over again :)

The issue is in your layout XML.

The first ... has children
- a TextView and another ListView. ListView does not allow child views
(other than those it creates itself).

To resolve this, move the TextView and the second ListView from inside
the first ListView to outside.

Re: [android-developers] Hello everyone, i am developing an android bluetooth App

2012-02-12 Thread Kostya Vasilyev

The error message is quite self-descriptive:

   java.lang.RuntimeException: Binary XML file line #14: *You must
   supply a layout_width attribute*.

And it occurrs on line 14 in your XML file.

So, open your XML layout file and make sure you have layout_width (and
layout_height) attributes for every view.

First, "HELLO! :))" is a terrible title for a post. Please choose a title
that clearly illustrates what you're asking. This will help *you* get
answers and will help *others* if and when they search for the same topic.

[android-developers] Hello. StateList and Ninepatch from external storage

2011-11-28 Thread Build Account
Hello. (this is 3rd post with new account since my account was been
attacked by spamer).

I want to use external ninepatched image file from external file
system
to change button images with StateListDrawable.

But, from my test,
StateListDrawable class only works with normal png file.
(ninepatch image doesn't work as expected as stretch line,
just work as none-ninepatch image)

Is there any experiences to use external ninepatch image with
StateListDrawable?

Please advice me any thing a lot!

Your application threw an exception. Use your debugger and LogCat to track
it down, then fix it.

[android-developers] Hello Grid View Tutorial

2011-10-24 Thread Hopette
Hi!

I've been trying to use the hello grid world tutorial from
developer.android.com at this site
http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-gridview.html

For some reason, my code debugs, but I get this error at runtime: "The
application HelloGridView (process com.example.hellogridview) has
stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

The code for the HelloGridView.java is

package com.example.hellogridview;

import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;

findViewById(R.id.gridview);
gridview.setAdapter(new ImageAdapter(this));

gridview.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener()
{
public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View v,
int position, long id) {
Toast.makeText(HelloGridView.this, "" + position,
Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
});
}
}
class ImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter {
private Context mContext;

public ImageAdapter(HelloGridView c) {
mContext = c;
}

public int getCount() {
return mThumbIds.length;
}

public Object getItem(int position) {
return null;
}

public long getItemId(int position) {
return 0;
}

// create a new ImageView for each item referenced by the Adapter
public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup
parent) {
ImageView imageView;
if (convertView == null) { // if it's not recycled,
initialize some attributes
imageView = new ImageView(mContext);
imageView.setLayoutParams(new GridView.LayoutParams(85,
85));
imageView.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_CROP);
imageView.setPadding(8, 8, 8, 8);
} else {
imageView = (ImageView) convertView;
}

imageView.setImageResource(mThumbIds[position]);
return imageView;
}

// references to our images
private Integer[] mThumbIds = {
R.drawable.pic3, R.drawable.pic4,

};
}

and my code for the main.xml is

http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android";
android:id="@+id/gridview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:columnWidth="90dp"
android:numColumns="auto_fit"
android:verticalSpacing="10dp"
android:horizontalSpacing="10dp"
android:stretchMode="columnWidth"

Thanks so much for your help!

If your Activity can't be found, it's usually because you forgot to declare
it in your manifest.

[android-developers] Hello Listview project

2011-08-15 Thread erik wagner
Hi to all,
I am very new to both java and android development so this is probably
a very simple question. I have been going through the various 'hello'
tutorials on this site. I've hit a snag on the 'Hello Listview' (this
one http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-listview.html).
When trying to run it I get a fatal error and the debugger shows me
the following message of

Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is
'android.R.id.list'

I've seen some similar things on various posts but could not find the
answer to; 1. where is this entry to be made (the
androidmanifest.xml? the list.xml?) and 2. what the entry actually
should be.
Thanks in advance for any answers.
