Re: [Apertium-stuff] GCI tasks

2018-09-18 Thread Ng Wei En
Hello,

On these two beginner tasks:
1. For the "Join us on IRC" task, I proposed a Begiak module which would
track the amount of time spent in the channel at
https://github.com/apertium/phenny/issues/437. I haven't got the time to
work on it, unfortunately.
2. For the "Adopt a Wiki Page" task, a list of Wiki pages that are old or
erroneous needs to be compiled. I can't create the list now, so if there's
anyone who has ideas please feel free to add the page and send an email.

Best regards,
Wei En

Re: [Apertium-stuff] GCI tasks

2018-09-11 Thread Sushain Cherivirala
I've added about 15 tasks and commented out the begiak task that goes
against
GCI regulations. There are definitely more that I can create from the
issues pages
on APy, html-tools, begiak and stats-service so if we're still running low
when the
deadline is looming, please send another email ping and I'll add some more
:)

I'm also the only mentor on a bunch since I didn't want to speak for anyone
else
so please add yourself if you feel qualified. I can always take a final
look.

Thanks Mikel, that's great! Note that tasks from last
year can be found on the talk page of that article.

It's better to start with a clean sheet every year to
encourage people to be creative!

We still need around 5 more mentors, so if you were
thinking about mentoring, please consider adding
your name to the list here:

Hello everyone,

As you know, we are planning to apply for the Google Code-in.

We need to have 5 tasks in each of the following 5 categories:

*    code: Tasks related to writing or refactoring code
*    documentation: Tasks related to creating/editing documents and
helping others learn more
*    research: Tasks related to community management,
outreach/marketting, or studying problems and recommending solutions
*    quality: Tasks related to testing and ensuring code is of high
quality.
*    design: Tasks related to user experience research or user
interface design and interaction

Tasks should be well explained and self-contained.

The deadline is the 16th September.

I'm kindly asking if every person on the list could add at
least one task to the task ideas page:

http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Task_ideas_for_Google_Code-in

As soon as possible.

Thank you!

Fran

am waiting, in some of them, for other mentors to be added.
