[ARIE-L] Ariel Patron E-Delivery
Greetings, Since it's been quite a while since we tried implementing the patron e-delivery from Ariel for our borrowing patrons I was wondering how this process has been working for people. I would like to be able to deliver files directly from the Ariel Received Queue to the patron's desktop and I believe in the past we always had trouble with large files not being able to go through. Could you guys let me know what's been working best for those of you that use either Clio or just plain Ariel for patron delivery-I'm not sure how ILLiad affects the e-delivery for items coming through Ariel and we don't have ILLiad. [ARIE-L] Ariel Date Descrepancy Issue?
I've just noticed something weird in our Ariel Receiving Queue. The dates of the file changed from 06-23-10 to 08-24-10. The Ariel Sending machine shows the current date but, if we send something to our Receiving machine it adds two months. Does anyone know what might have caused this kind of thing? We too have this issue. Although we can usually view the color/grayscale files in the Received Queue-if we try and deliver the file-it shuts down our delivery system (we still use Prospero) I have to go into the system and remove all the files internally to bring Prospero back up. So are you actually trying to deliver the file using Ariel and posting to a webserver or directly to the patron's email? Prospero and some other program I forgot the name of don't seem to be able to handle some color, grayscale or longer files. I'd have your IT person or persons investigate your patron pick up server. If you have had no problems before, it is possible that with the end of the semester, if your patron pick up server also does other tasks, the server is getting overloaded.
