i'm not indian.but there are indian in my country.i'm exposed to indian movie (on tv)since i was 7, my mom love the 60s and 70s (hindi).i dont have that kind of crazy feeling on this.it just 'smthg to watch when it's all crap in other channel'. in 1998 when i was in a boarding school,my collegue crazy about kuch kuch hota hai.every body talking about it day and night for a month. but i dont even think to watch it. the next year, in university (1999) on of my friend(a girl) give me the CD n want me to watch it after i condemn indian(hindi)movie.a stereotype script since 50s. but that KKHH is something.i watch it twice that day.(then i know why my collegue crazy about it). i start looking back at previous movie (DDLJ,HAHK,DTPH,Raja Hindustani).i also watch the film fare award that KKHH a big winner.(i know about chayya chayya from the stage performance-srk on a train). in the year 2000 i start watching almost srk movie (since he is the only actor that well recognised in my country)rented by my collegue.and i read about the winner of film fare 1999 and i start to know about aishwarya rai.in HDDCS she is so so so sooo beautiful in nimbooda.that year taal won for music. i still dont recognised ARR. i'm crazy about aishwarya. i wanna know everything about her.then i found that she start with iruvar.and she also starred in kandukondein kandukondein.i found that the music composed by the one in taal and dil se. in the year 2002 i'm searching for all aish movie song include in tamil movie (something i never watch on tv). i found that kandukondein2 song superb(esp. konjum mainakkale-of cos becos of aish) that year i start watch tamil movie on tv(which i find that tamil movie have more soul than bollywood- in certain movies).then i found that 'chinna2 aasai'(which i thought a song from an indian singer in my country-when indian appear on tv, this is the song to sing) is ARR song. then, i search for his song and i almost have his complete list by 2003.'boys' is smthg new but it still have the magic.since his song sound 'not too tamil'. i alway played the song and let my friend heard it. and no matter HJ make a catchy adangkaka, Anbe Aruyire is better.ARR song will alwiz be in my mp3 list. thanks to Karan Johar! aishril malaysia Yahoo! hi friends this is based on my observation that ar rahman is neglecting the effective use of chorus in his songs which he used to do in rangela , thiruda thiruda etc and this strategy is being very well used by shankar-ehsaan- loy musicians(who r also gr8 fan of rahman) which makes their song sound sweet so i just want ar rahman to get back to his roots and make effective use of chorus Yahoo! Hai dude I totally do not accept ur critisism of arjit..he sungbeautifully the vande mataram song whihc other singers wont even dare totry that song..the only mistake he did was keeping the mike away for fewwords..but overall the way he sang that song was beautiful... if uexpect ARR from arjit then thats the most foolish things..but the way hesang compared to other singers that was good... S.J. Suryah, Director of film New did not present himself in the court today; hence the court has issued arrest warrant for him. Thus he could be arrested at any time. The cause for this is the release of New, containing several obscene scenes that are not in line with usual Indian standards. Also a song that was added to this film after its release had several obscene scenes in it. When the Mumbai Censor board refused to grant permission to add this song to the film, Suryah became very frustrated. All these incidents have led to the issue of the arrest warrant. Yahoo! After they talked to you, you felt your mind had been expanded - possibly warped for ever. Harrington is the leader of the esteemed Kronos Quartet, who have been producing extraordinary recordings for 25 years, successfully negotiating the tricky world music/classical crossover (their Nuevo album was truly ground-breaking). The late RD Burman's arena, meanwhile, was the wild world of Bollywood soundtracks - and in his Sixties heyday, he threw everything into the musical mix, from gypsy music to Mexican mariachi, via can-can, psychedelia and swinging jazz. This disc contains Kronos reworkings of some of Burman's best-loved tunes, from 'If People Come' to 'In Dhanno's Eyes'. The Quartet are pushed into rethinking their usual modus operandi, augmenting their quartet with massive overdubs, tabla guru Zakir Hussain and Chinese lute player Wu Man. Burman once said the only music he had no time for was Chinese, so I'm not sure he'd approve. But the only possible singer for the project was his muse and wife Asha Bhosle, who reprises some of his greatest hits here - the collaboration marks a real coup for the Kronos. Now in her sixties, she still has the sweetness and fluidity that made her such a massive Playback star in the first place. (Bhosle was even responsible for introducing rock'n'roll to India, with her hit 'Ek Do Teen'.) I said "A brain" to stress the fact that all the brains are different and unique. So, converting 'an' observation to theory is not logical. I would just give couple of examples and leave it at that... 1. Do patthae... pathjhad ke paedon se uthre thhey... paedon kiii shaaakhon se.. uthre thheyyy now tell to yourself if the right song strikes in your mind??( i am asking this because it is ones own opinion/observation/perception that matters in understanding ) if you are able to identify the song, it means you have a strong neuro links which associate these lines to that song. now, try this. 2. laanat hai jii us par duniya me.n hii rahkar duniya me.n jo jiine ke a.ndaaz ko na jaane maathe ya haatho.n pe chaa.nd ya taaro.n me.n kismat ko DHuu.nDHe par khud me.n kya hai yeh na jaane can you identify this one? Well, these conclusions cannot be arrived at with mathematical formulations(as yet)... so its all about surveying unbiased opinions. and I think this kind of a survey would be more effective with small clips of audio rather than the lyrics as I gave above. thats all I got for now and please do not take it otherwise if i do not follow up on this discussion... I think this is trueRDB did have a raw sense of humour and wit in his compositions; that was his gift. ARR on the other hand has a supreme sense of spirituality, which is his gift; Both are different states of mind, thus the different qualities in their music. I still think ARR's songs are more technically perfect and covers a broader scope of the musical spectrum. I love RDB...I can dance all day to Bach Ke Rehna, Tum Saath Ho Jab, Jaha Teri Ye Nazar...etc. These are qunitessentially witty RDB at his best. ARR can't have that sense of wit because that is not who he is. But, a song like Radha Kaise Na Jale is very witty, in a totally different way that is intelectually stimulating, may not tickle your funny bone that much. After they talked to you, you felt your mind had been expanded - possibly warped for ever. Harrington is the leader of the esteemed Kronos Quartet, who have been producing extraordinary recordings for 25 years, successfully negotiating the tricky world music/classical crossover (their Nuevo album was truly ground-breaking). The late RD Burman's arena, meanwhile, was the wild world of Bollywood soundtracks - and in his Sixties heyday, he threw everything into the musical mix, from gypsy music to Mexican mariachi, via can-can, psychedelia and swinging jazz. This disc contains Kronos reworkings of some of Burman's best-loved tunes, from 'If People Come' to 'In Dhanno's Eyes'. The Quartet are pushed into rethinking their usual modus operandi, augmenting their quartet with massive overdubs, tabla guru Zakir Hussain and Chinese lute player Wu Man. Burman once said the only music he had no time for was Chinese, so I'm not sure he'd approve. But the only possible singer for the project was his muse and wife Asha Bhosle, who reprises some of his greatest hits here - the collaboration marks a real coup for the Kronos. Now in her sixties, she still has the sweetness and fluidity that made her such a massive Playback star in the first place. (Bhosle was even responsible for introducing rock'n'roll to India, with her hit 'Ek Do Teen'.) Bollywood's image these days tends towards the trashy, and, fittingly, that element is present, though underneath the music packs an emotional punch. For many of us, these songs are from the glory days of Indian cinema, when playfulness was mixed up with serious social issues and many films were epic, Shakespearean stories of family feuds, mistaken identity and forbidden love. After they talked to you, you felt your mind had been expanded - possibly warped for ever.Harrington is the leader of the esteemed Kronos Quartet, who have been producing extraordinary recordings for 25 years, successfully negotiating the tricky world music/classical crossover (their Nuevo album was truly ground-breaking). The late RD Burman's arena, meanwhile, was the wild world of Bollywood soundtracks - and in his Sixties heyday, he threw everything into the musical mix, from gypsy music to Mexican mariachi, via can-can, psychedelia and swinging jazz.This disc contains Kronos reworkings of some of Burman's best-loved tunes, from 'If People Come' to 'In Dhanno's Eyes'. The Quartet are pushed into rethinking their usual modus operandi, augmenting their quartet with massive overdubs, tabla guru Zakir Hussain and Chinese lute player Wu Man. Burman once said the only music he had no time for was Chinese, so I'm not sure he'd approve. But the only possible singer for the project was his muse and wife Asha Bhosle, who reprises some of his greatest hits here - the collaboration marks a real coup for the Kronos. Now in her sixties, she still has the sweetness and fluidity that made her such a massive Playback star in the first place. (Bhosle was even responsible for introducing rock'n'roll to India, with her hit 'Ek Do Teen'.)Bollywood's image these days tends towards the trashy, and, fittingly, that element is present, though underneath the music packs an emotional punch.
