Hi kaissiom,

You have worked brilliantly. And regarding that Azhage Sugama song,
the violin has some pinning effectthat is full of sorrow, to me
its like ..only ARR can create those kind of
effects.

Only ARR can remix his songs, and those are typically signature tune,
that's why when we listen to ARR's song in some musical contests or
like that, the musicians can not recreate 2% of the original---and the
song got murdered.

You are absolutely rightI think the media got some reason for bad
mouthing ARR. He has done lots of welfare activities, and those news
never focused in the the media, but this raid is focused everywhere,
even the bengali news channels also showing this with photos of ARR.

Mumbai indeed...hahha...dont believe what the media says...its all hyped up and silly...yest on a channel called 7 (dunno if its telecast outside mumbai), it felt as if she was reading from a website...said a r r has worked with david bryne, karen david etc...his non film albums were vande matram, live in dubai (oh god !) etc...hahahahah forget it !

In this interview from Kungumam, A R R has mentioned that his Tamil Projects are:

Dasavathaaram (Kamal), Shivaji (Rajni), Godfather and Melliname...
Has anyone heard of this Melliname before? 

Interesting thing is that there is no mention of "Jillendru oru Kaadhal". Has this movie been renamed as Mellinamae?

Apart from Rahman, others whose houses were raided were actors Vivek,
Vikram, Vijay, Trisha, Sneha, Silambarasan, Surya and `Jayam' Ravi,
financiers Sanjay Wadhwani, Subash Nager and Pankaj Mehta, directors
and producers 'Oscar' Ravichandran, T. Rajendran, S.A. Chandrasekhar
and S. Shankar, music directors Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja
and playback singers Srinivas and Mano.

ARR is the only personality in this list who is renowned outside of
Tamil Nadu (or to an extent, AP), which is why his name was played up
so much in the national media. The Tamil media has been focussing more
on the likes of Vijay and Vikram.

At least two reports said that ARR was led away for a discussion after

[arr] Bad day for the boss...???

It seems rather emphatic effort by the press to bring ARR under bad 
light. The raids were conducted in almost every other Top film stars 
in Chennai, but they decide to put ARRs photos in all the sites. 
Others who came under the raid included Yuvan Shankar, Vikram, 
Vijay, Trisha... and the list goes on. Arent they biggies in 
kollywood, y dont they write more about what happened there? 

All the major websites, press releases have been dogmatic in 
singling ARR and splashing his photos with headlines "IT scrutiny". 
Whats all this bad press all about? He was always their darling when 
he made waves in music. Just coz he is a popular figure they want 
his photos visible in the news so that ppl buy their stories. 

I know the Central Govt is only trying to do their job; and am sure 
in the next cple of days we will all be enlightened with their 
calculations and what each star owes. Well before the press start 
making judgements abt ARR or his earnings, I wud want them to also 
take into consideration his humanitarian efforts and contributions. 
He has conducted concerts all over the world and most of the 
proceeds have been donated to NGOs and Non-Profit Service 
Organizations. 

* I dont remember any other music director contributing something 
towards National Integration with an album like Vande Mataram, Jana 
Gana Mana

* Innumerous concerts in an effort to support NGOs like Banyan 

* Spirit of Unity Concert series

* Anthem to fight TB and not to forget a special status as UN 
Ambassdor to lead the fight against the disease

* Concert for the families who were victims to the Tsunami disaster

and his contributions keep going on

I was doing some research on the web and it looks like IT Dept is 
doing this as a relegious act every year around September /October, 
and all these raids on Film personalities. In 2000 they did the same 
thing with Bollywood biggies, and now they have turned their 
attention to the South. I dont know how genuine are their 
intentions, but in a country filled with plagiarism and corruption, 
their first target should be politicians and industrial big wigs, 
then those in the entertainment sector.


As ARR fans we can all only hope that he is undeterred by all these 
bad press and continues to give us all the best in music.

Nothing to worry. The BOSS will never default in cases of tax 
payments. He is high in his ethics.
I think this is the second time its happening to him but this 
unfortunate. His success abroad & his new studio might have poked the

 interludes such that it is impossible to isolate oneparticular segment.  You are either missing the beginning or missingthe end... for example, in Yeh jo des hai tera.. the 2ndanthra..starts with "Yeh pal hai wohi..", notice how vocals startplaying before the interlude ends, that makes it impossible to isolatethe interlude or vocals completely, makes the job much harder for the"re-mixer".  His patterns are way to complex.  I'm currently workingon extracting all the interludes from his song, as I believe each ofhis interludes are master-pieces in them themselves.The most accomplished mix I have ever done is the Anbai Sugamainterludes.  I combined Anbai Sugama w/ Azhage Sugama, and then thereis a layering with Sadhna's voice and the (violin ?), which is notthere in the original song, but it sounds like Rahman himself did it.For the first and the only time I felt like I connected with Rahman,I predicted
 exactly what Rahman would have done.  I can't express thejoy from creating that mix and the joy of sharing it with you guys.Thanks.p.s. anymore...anyone making such comments on

boss r of least interest to us...none can
stand before the "south indian music" i.e,"carnatic
music"
n the music directors like our boss who mastered it
along with "western classical" along with
"hindusthani" cannot be competed.hell with the
ismail darbar n stuff...it shows tht they r
jealous of our boss tht a south indian music director
has even captured north india n infact the world
too..

This is a beautiful theme that was originally just 1:40.  It has a
flute playing in the right channel and a veena/violin? playing in the
left channel simultaneously followed by a beatiful sarangi piece.  It
is amazing, the music our Boss made during his early days.  This one

as far as kisna goes hum hai iss pal yahan was a very good song much better 
then all of the other songs in the films. and ismail darbar has only done 
well when he has worked with sanjay leela bhansali other then that his 
albums have been damp squibs! tera jadoo chal gaya, deewangee, baaz. all 
very bad. leave our boss aside, even shankar-ehsaan-loy and mm kreem are way 
ahead of ismail darbar. dheere jhalna from paheli is phenomal! and i really 
loved the songs in bunty aur babli and kal ho na ho amongst others!

I saw that on TV just moments ago, i'm enraged to say the least. I 
just can't explain how i feel. Yhey r not going to find much. It is 
just a way of getting in the NEWS. I can't stand them bringing Sir

highest tax payers in
the past year from the entertainment industry listed Rahman at No. 27, the 
highest tax paying
composer/musician in the country. Rahman apparently paid taxes to the tune of 
Rs. 60 lakhs in
2001-2002.
