Are you sure about that? I thought the article said ROM was working with ARR on the BGM of Rang De Basanti and planned to reshoot Aks after he was done with that. Titan wanted it in that way because it is their signature tune...simple..Had some other MD, even naushad been assigned to compose the jingles even then he had to use Mozart's symphony. The project - which was started in January after the Asian tsunami that hit Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia amongst others - has been extended to help the earthquake victims. 17 giants of the Asian music scene are involved in the project including input from hugely successful composer A R Rahman. Other artists on the single include Sukhwinder Singh, Jaspinder Narula, Shaan, Hans Raj Hans, UK Apache, Am'nico, Dhami (Heera), Channi (Alaap), Djinn, Mistri, E=MC, Shahin Badar, Sumeet, Surinder Sandhu (sarangi), and Shahbaz Khan (tabla). The track is produced by Mukhtar Sahota. Mukhtar Sahota told Asianinmedia.org: The idea behind the track was to take a similar approach as to the Band Aid single but with Asian artists from around the world. This particular question is difficult to answer(so i can make mistakes - I m no researcher). Tribes(around 6) used to live around finland where they had 1 std frmt for writing finnish.These tribal ppl never knew abt other tribal ppl using similar script).But each tribe chngd the pronounciation over the time.varttina sing in a dialect that was follwed by karjala tribe which is same as karelian.Different tribes also chngd the original script so now the script is slightly differnt (along with pronounciations which are quite differnt)Now after the world war 2 these territories where karjala -dialect was spoken went into russia(i thnk so).Karelian republic now is in russia.But these ppl are actually finnish.So often these songs are refferd as russian karelian folk songs. Anyways many of them prefer FINNISH - KARELIAN FOLK Songs.
