Hi Everybody, Zip Genius is an alternative. It is a complete "freeware" as opposed to WinRar whose free edition has some limitations. Also it handles almost all (non-)popular compression formats incl. Zip, Rar, 7Z, etc. Ever since I started using it, I have not used others, but kept my old favorite Win Rar (free edition) just for backup. A request to fanz: Instead of worrying about the T-Shirt, why don't someone release: An A R Rahman Special CD/DVD whose contents would be... 1. Voiceless BGMs 2. Extra Movie Songs 3. Some Wallpapers 4. Some rare interview videos and other stuff which are worth sharing... The one who takes initiative can set a nominal price for the CD as the manufacturing, postage, and handling costs. For fanz like me who dont live life on the broad-ways of the web, it will be really useful. Please give it a serious consideration. Can any of the admins create a POLL for this?? Anyway, thanks. Hi Warm greetings to all rahmaniacs. This is my first official mail to the fan club although its been quite sometime since i joined. I was introduced to rahman's music by my bro who i beileve got to know of arr through one of his close friends and an oldest member of this group (Rogin Thomas). Rogin pls pass atleast ur e-mail to b in touch. Okay, coming back to Rahman. I am sure everyone know abt the malayalam movie 'Yodha' that rahman did in 1992. Hi, How do i upload songs to the ftp? i have the duet version (the ones i mixed myself) of Azhagu from puthiya mugam. and if you are interested in non ARR stuff as well, then i also mixed Pulveli from Aasai and Manam virumbuthey from Neruku ner. Some how i missed out this kannathil mutham ittal song. But i must say that our friend has done a fantastic job on that. And if anyone can suggest songs like these to mix, i can try my best. I tried mixing nila kaigirathu as well, but the tempo was too different and was unable to rip the voice alone. same problem withnetru illatha matram. But suggessions welcome for both mixing new songs as well as to improve the present. As for now, someone help me upload this first! Rahman says the music for the lavish stage production of The Lord of the Rings opening in Toronto this month has a unique flavour due to his collaboration with Finnish folk group Varttina. Rahman had earlier composed music for Bombay Dreams - a musical about India's movie industry by Andrew Lloyd Webber that was a hit in London's West End, but struggled on Broadway. Working on the music for the stage version of J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy was challenging, Rahman told Mumbai-based DNA newspaper in an interview published Thursday. "I have been working on this for more than two years," said Rahman, adding this was the longest project he had been involved with. While the Rings stage production is not a musical, it uses music extensively and Rahman has said he was approached to bring an orchestral tone to the folk music of Varttina. The show, with a cast of nearly 60 actors, cost upward of $23 million US and opens at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre on March 23. Rahman said one thing the score would not have was pop music. "It was an interesting collaboration," Rahman said about working with Varttina. "To those who have heard my music before, I'd say don't expect Shakalaka Baby or Chaiyya Chaiyya." The two songs were Bollywood favourites and featured in the musical Bombay Dreams. First of all, you have to be PRETTY good to work for A R R as far as programming. So HJ is certainly good with programming work.. As a composer, I haven't heard him much except Minnale.. BUT I DO THINK that the entire bass line of Endrendrum is pretty close to the REAL SLIM SHADY by Eminem.. Also u guys forgot about the lyricist Vairamuthu who won 3 national awards for writing songs for ARRs. Not sure about the movies but anyone can throw light on the movies?
