Here are few suggestions: 1) Get yourself a full-featured CMS (Content management system - google it) for updating the site regularly. Extremely important ! Otherwise you'd be sweating to update the site regularly writing that html jargon 2) Make sure you have visitor interaction. For example: comments/ratings on articles, newsletter subscription, etc...3) Split the task among 5+ moderators who can dedicate some time in collecting/updating the site (you have to use a CMS for this). Gopal, can you agree on this? Well, you post a lot of articles on the group but they get buried in the archives and its really hard to search them. 4) An ultimate directory of information about ARR. Even casual language begins to have some professional (in Rahman's case, Musical) terms and connotations. A.R.Rahman has been making his presence felt since the last few months with the music of The Rising and Rang De Basanti being greatly appreciated. However, surprisingly, the musician has still not been fully paid for his work in The Rising. It seems that only 15% of the amount due has been paid to Rahman. He received 10 lakhs which was to be paid to the Prague Orchestra. Considering that it was a big film, Rahman left no stone unturned to ensure that the quality of music is good. After the release of the film, producer Bobby Bedi had said in a television interview that he had recovered the entire money invested in the film. Rahman is extremely selective about the work that he does. And he does not want to get cheated on the few projects that he does. Producer Bobby Bedi was not aware that there was any amount due. And as Krishna pointed out, she is involved in 3 more - Jodha Akbar, Provoked, and Guru. Okay, there are some minor connections in this regard. Paani and Invaders were never (and may not be) made. We all know Ash was dropped from The Rising. In an interview, Rahman says: Just like Shekhar Kapoor and Aishwariya Rai, I am also trying to promote Indian films. What's wrong with it? 2. A.R.Rahman has been making his presence felt since the last few months with the music of The Rising and Rang De Basanti being greatly appreciated. However, surprisingly, the musician has still not been fully paid for his work in The Rising. It seems that only 15% of the amount due has been paid to Rahman. He received 10 lakhs which was to be paid to the Prague Orchestra. Considering that it was a big film, Rahman left no stone unturned to ensure that the quality of music is good. After the release of the film, producer Bobby Bedi had said in a television interview that he had recovered the entire money invested in the film. Rahman is extremely selective about the work that he does. And he does not want to get cheated on the few projects that he does. Producer Bobby Bedi was not aware that there was any amount due. I know ARR Fan clun is not an official group established in any country. (Correct me if I'm wrong). WE are all crazy about ARR and his music. WE will die and strive to get the first hand info his info and music. But, what is the point? Where it has elevated us? Occasionally we have get-togethers (although I have not attended one myself. Attempted once though) but what is the outcome? Should we be offication this group in each country, and participate in charitable rallies? Why don't we pick this particular effort being carried out by our beloved ARR? Here's what we can do :- 1) Participate in a large group in blood donation rallies (representing ARR Fan Club) 2) Having an official fan club means, we can even collect membership or donations which can be transferred to an old folks home, orphanage other medical instituions wholly. Need not to maintain any accounting within the fan club. 3) Organize our own charitable movement associated with temples, mandirs, mosques, churches or other religious channels. 4) Be volunteers with organizations that are looking for help organizing events for poor or needy. This will enhance our own popularity as a result. These are only a tip of how we can channel our strength. Once its all started things will be growing rapidly which will only add our beloved ARR and his efforts towards the community indirectly. I had already posted this a few days back. The best way is to use an ftp client like smartftp. dap is also good. I think the maximum simultaneous connections is set as 5. So if u get that error, retry later. In IE, you can goto File - Login and enter username and password .. In mozilla/firefox that option might not be there .. but u can give username password in the url itself like this: ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:snafrra@www.arrmusic.com If u r using firefox u can install an extension like FireFtp .. There is one software from intelliscore... forgot the actual name. That one can convert but the accuracy is how u play with those settings.
