I am fed up after going through articles that the carried the headlines like
these


  - Nephew overtakes uncle AR Rahman
  - Rahman's competition at home


these articles ultimately outline that GVP has overtaken Sivaji and GVP's
new album is topping audio charts. just out of curiosity i gave the songs a
try, listening to them. my goodness! i really dont know how the media can
wind some uncooth news like this and rate GVP's album ahead of Sivaji.. all
money bonkers.. hate this kind of people. definitely these writers have gone
out of senses. i dont care about what they say abt GVP's album (good/bad)
but why the hell they have to write something relating to ARR? that too
totally irrelevant and non-sense. tasteless and senseless creatures. i know
that i m verbally assaulting "those" people but i think "they" deserve this
for making a STUPID comparison.

on the other hand, it was soothing to read SPB's comments and ARRs urdu
translated article.

I have heard that, Rahman had done 90% of the Background music for
DrohKaal (year 1993) . But it was lost due to his computer crash. My
guess is that, he may have sung some bit songs for the movie.

BTW, Drohkaal was really a good movie with a hard hitting story from
Govind Nihalani who later did 'Thakshak'. It gave me goosebumps b/w  all
those masala cinemas in those years. A must watch :)

okay coming to a topic, i would like to discuss out here is about
MITHOON...!!

first of all, i am not trying to compare him with ARR, but i guess
he does show a potential which should be noticed and strikes a
similarity with ARR.

1. with songs like 'BAS EK PAL' and 'TERE BIN' , and i guess the one
which striked me the most MAULA MERE MAULA...a divine love song,
composed by him and that too at a age of 22 speaks a lot...!!
thats the most striking part,,, to a compose a song with such depth
and divinity or rather pristinity at a age of 22 is certainly striking.

2. his first full album 'THE TRAIN' is a runaway success musically
 songs like THE TRAIN...shows his background arrangement
cappability immensely.
his sung songs 'MAUSAM' and 'woh ajnabee' , is striking.

3. just google his name and read the few interviews he has given ,
just shows the maturity of the guy./(he says he will never lift a
tune, music should come from within, 'ARR is his fav.')

4. also DOORIE album ATIFis composed by himjust
superb.

5. his forthcoming venture a album with Abhijeet sawant,'AGAR(aug 2007)'
and also he has composed 5 songs for a malay film DIVAjust
hearing the soundtrack of this film on a search at YOUTUBE

it was really refreshin,compelling me too put him right up with
ARR , VISHAL BHARADWAJ...!!

with such quality work already backing himhe really has a lot of
potential.at the age of 22way to go
though.quite inspirational for a 22 jughead like me..!!!

He had come out with a large book on ARR with loads of extra stuff...
dunno what happened to that... (But one thing sure,  that book was very

A.R.Rahman recorded a few songs for Govind Nihalani's DROHKAAL but 
unfortunatelly, his computers crashed and he lost all the songs. He 
said that he came very close to record a very weird song, but the 
computers on which he had stored the music jammed that he was not 
able to record it again! So he backed out from the project. He was 
quite upset.

has done it. Amith Chandhran too has written a biography. Both 
attempts are excellent and are worth reading.

  in a cinenews rumour that hes(nephew) asking 50 lacs per film. and producers 
are running away from him. newcomers should grow step by step. their market 
price will increase automatically based on the album sales and their songs 
popularity. 
   
  our ARR grew like that. do u remember the moments of "Kadhalan" and 
"Rangeela" album releases. people crazy to buy the albums. if i am not wrong 
these two was created history in album selling in indian cinema. 
   
  based on that our ARR get recognition rapidly and its worthy to give him big 
money. bcos everyone makes more money based on his music.
   
  for that nephew is too much. thats the only word i can say bcos hes our ARRs 
relative. and ARR definetly love him and bless him. and also he should advise 
him that to live as simple man like ARR and rajni. 
   
  Bharadwaj who gave the hit of "autograph" too not behaved like this after the 
mega mega successful in autograph. still hes getting less than 50 lacs bcos of 
his market in album selling and at the same time he knew he should not be

Not adding anything as far as A R R, but Govind Nihalini's movies 
have been fabulous in general. Ardh Satya, Vijeta, Sansodhan, and Dev 
to some extent are all great (have not seen Droh Kaal completely or 
1084). Unfortunately his work with A R in Thakshak didn't click. I 
hope that they get together again though. I also wanted to point out 
Vishal Bharadwaj's score in Sansodhan is something to hear..

Hi Sandeep

Technically speaking our Boss does not have a assistant MD and has
never had one.All these people who are called ARR's assistants were
only musicians who worked for our Boss.Like HJ,Josh S & G.V Prakash
were keyboard players & programmers for ARR.But when a Musician
becomes a MD,people usually start calling them as an assistant of
ARR/IR and so on.

I have seen people calling ARR as IR's assistant but it is not
correct to call a musician as an assistant of some MD.

A few years back I read that he was going start work on a new movie
but it never took off.The last I heard about him was like 1 or 2 years
back was that he has settled down in Bangalore and had no plans to
make a movie anytime soon.He suffered a lot of loss after his last
film Kadhal Virus flopped but its a mystery why he never made a film
after that.

combined the music bits of Rahman humming and swara voice (Where there

I tried to collect most of them, may be missed one or two..
In the process, i tried to add moula from Mangal Pandey...but total song seems 
like aalapana...so couldnt add that one

It was very difficult to put which song should be placed after what!!!
