[arr] Style in Hindi... I had fun doing it!

2007-09-27 Thread kaissiom
Hi Guys,

So moving on from my last rambling on Saawariya, wait...

hmmm I actually didn't ramble on Saawariya, maybe I should. I like
Saawariya Saawariya from Swades. Good music, Alka has done a good job?

Anyway, I have uploaded a Hindi version of Style and No this is not a
leaked version of any kind:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w13mXrzUhpE

So, I gave it shot.. lyrics, singing and music on FLStudio.

I'm not a singer and I didn't even try to be. There's so many layers
in the song, I had fun just doing minor layering and of course making
music in FLStudio. Anyway here's the lyrics, it's pretty cheezy,
don't hate me:

Give me one time sunlight
Oh Give me two time sunlight
OR Give me three time sunset

Chahiye kya sunlight
Chahiye kya moonlight
Pehle tha main kaala
Ab to hoo main white

Aajao sab maidaan main
Kardoonga sab ki chutti main
Jab sab karenge darr ke run
Main bhi karronga piche run

Dekho Dekho
Isko to dekho
Dekho Dekho
Isko to dekho

Mara mara mara maarne ka style
Pita pita pita peetne ka style
Toda toda toda todhne ka style
Phoda phoda phoda phodne ka style

Marne ka style
Peetne ka sytle
Phodhne ka style

Khaane ka style
Peene ka style
Sone ka style

Mara mara mara maarne ka style
Pita pita pita peetne ka style
Toda toda toda todhne ka style
Phoda phoda phoda phodne ka style
Khana khana khana khaane ka style
Pani pani pani peene ka style
sona sona sona sone ka style
Naya naya naya Apun ka Style

Let me know what you think.

Regards,
Wasim.

Re: [arr] Re: A R Rahman credited for Shakalaka Baby - Chinese

2007-09-27 Thread just me!
Hey dats great news! but its so sad that they credited ARR after so much
trouble. As and interntational brand shouldnt they have known better and asked
ARR for his permission 1st. This is bad they steal then then credit him? What
if like edwardian10 said ARR decides to take legal action against Universal
what are they goin to do?

She should be the rights or sought permission. What she has done is
international piracy and as ARR fans we should step up against such stuff and
do something about this

So the groups has JUST achieved a breakthrough. So A.R.Rahman will be
credited each time the video is played or the song from this album is

However, I still won't buy the argument that Universal Music had
originally intended to credit ARR. I say this because they never
sought ARR's permission to begin with and that's why he and his legal
advisors were informed only by this group. ARR reserved the right to
say NO. However, they have gone ahead, recorded the song, made the
video, played it many times and NOW at the end they are saying they
would give credit to ARR. What would they do if ARR says NO THANK YOU
i cant permit you to use my tune which I am sure ARR would never do.
 Just wondering.

Thanks Gops anyways for breaking the good news. Since I wrote the

[arr] How abt learning something abt music

2007-09-27 Thread parimi sreekar
i know nothing abt music.i only listen to it.but i have seen many people
commenting on music in depth .Especially in their reviews of an arr
album.Iguess there are many composers tooo in this group.

So i would be happy if they share their knowledge with us.
they may tell us what are the raagas and all those stuff.or say abt music
composition.I hope this discussion to be restricted to just ARR songs.(I
dont want to myself to responsible for any controversy)

all i want to do is to start a healthy discussion abt details of ARRs
compositions.
Many times i read ARR mentioning 'i used so and so raaga OR this has so and
so element in it'.i really dont understand those things.I remember
there used to be the kind of discussions i mentioned above.like
picking a song and what kind of effect it has one oneself.
then everyone used to give their own feelings related to the song.
ofcourse my request for u all is to give a in depth analysis of a ARR
song.NO not the reviews.
i hope someone would be interested to tell us listeners more abt ARR's
music.something we never identified before.

Ricky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
  Hey Pawan,

I do visit the itwofs site, but looks like you have not visited it :)

There are only 2 songs listed from Metro, compared to your statement
on 'most of the songs have been copied'.

Also, if you actually listen to the 'original' versions, any one can
easily see that its not really a copy. Especially for 'O meri jaan'
its totally different. Only a few strumming patterns for the guitar
seem similiar, and that IMHO hardly qualifies a copy!

Its quite interesting that when a similiarity is found for ARR music
(e.g. Shakalaka baby with the loop pattern, or Boyz - secret of
success) we tend to underplay the inspiration. However, when it
happens to other MDs, we are ready to pounce on that!

On another side note, I must admit that I had never been a fan of
Pritam. But Metro, and another album that I failed to mention - Just
Married, changed my opinion of him. He does have talent, though often
gets into the 'inspirational' mode. But, when he does some original
stuff, its really cool..

Ricky

Even i think the same.Appreciation of others work shuould be part of this

there is no news abt ARR.but i think discussing abt others good work
during those days is great idea.I appreciate the one who has started this
discussion.am yet to listen saawariya's music.so i wouldnt comment on that

but as SRIRAM pointed out Happy days has a refreshing and great music.
Guys,if u like to appreciate anything good ,new and especially NON-ARR
,listen to HAPPY DAYS.(u need not know telugu.I dont know tamil but i
listen to those albums)

--May I know who is the MD of Saawariyaan?
Yeah I too agree that discussing about non ARR stuff should also be a part
of our group as we are first fans of Good Music for which ARR is one of
the best ambassadors and we are very much proud of him. He himself is
inspired by many past and current MDs giving excellent tunes.

I too want to share one such non ARR experience.
One of the recent releases in Telugu - 'Happy Days'.
It is composed by Micky J Meyer.
The songs are very heart touching and they will surely remind you of your
college days. I could not avoid listening to them repeatedly since three
days.

Thanks,
Sriram.

I'll disagree to that!! :) Even if ARR himself says
so!!

IMHO, his contri to this "musical ocean" is definitely
much much bigger than just a tiny drop!! ;-)

Re: [arr] My last rambling on Saawariya

2007-09-27 Thread Arijit Debnath
Rahman himself has given that statement 'My music is still a tiny drop in a
mighty ocean'... that is his humbleness, he only can make that statement,
that's why we are dedicated fans to not only for his music, but also for his
philosophy towards life.

But why we will accept others telling that for Rahman??? If one fine day
some musician is telling the same about Rahman will you accept? Then why we
will accept similar statement from common ppl/fans???

his new magics...

Re: [arr] which is the best album released so far in 2007??

2007-09-27 Thread Ricky

Regards,
Ricky
