I agree with your comments. People have deaf ear to listen to music, the movie
is running for music lovers and fan of ARR.

Did you hear that Rahman liked the movie and said that it was a good
entertainer that he watched after a long time (said by director
bharhathan in an interview)? Did you read that Rahman liked the script
and gave his music?

Who are we to decide how his music goes? Did we enjoy the music - YES
(majority of them). Thats it. Lines like Rahman wasted his music is
unwarranted. He knows where to give music. Will ATM's failure stop you
from listening to the songs?

[arr] Listening to Iruvar after almost 10 years

2007-11-21 Thread Raghu B P
Hello All,

It's been a long time since I posted here.

Recently started listening to Iruvar after a very long time, almost
10 years. Amazing album, an absolute classic. It's strange that I did
not like it 10 years ago, I was very disappointed then, but now I have
fallen in love with it. May be I did not like it then because I was 20
years old :) but now as I have grown older and married :), I am able
to connect with them, believe me I don't understand a word in tamil.
But the songs in Iruvar have a soothing effect.

Guys do give it a try.

Love ARR

The english Version is as below :-

To break the record created by Sivaji, the forthcoming movie Sultan is going
to be screened in 1200 theatres. After the world record in collection
created by Sivaji, this is going to be Rajnikanth's next movie. Rajni is
donning the role of Sultan who happened to rule India once upon a time.
Being a historic film, Rajni's daughter has been taking extra care in
drafting the film.

A.R.Rahman is scoring the music for the film, and the initial part of
shooting happened in Brazil, Belgium, Germany, America for six weeks. The
initial acting was done by Rajni, upon which the animation is being carried
out in Ocher Studios ( Rajni's daughter Studios ). Now, the final part of
shooting is being carried out. Rajni has been impressed by the way the film
has been directed, and has given 20 days of call sheet for the remaining
part of the film.

Soundarya speaking about the film says Her father has been quite happy
about the scenes that have already been shot till date. His father has been
motivating her right from the beginning abt the film, and shooting. One can
see her father in a more youthful and stylish form in the movie .

The Trailer of Sultan which is being shown everywhere has been welcomed
everywhere. The same sort of treatment is expected for the entire movie. In
the history of Indian Entertainment, this is the first time, that a Super
Star animated film is being shot and prepared. The final bit of shooting is
on progress , and will be shot entirel in Chennai.

The cut-outs for the film is being raised at AVM Studios, and Prasad studios
in Chennai. The climax fight scene woudl be picturised similar to the Lord
of the Rings. ARR has already composed six songs for the movie, which also
includes a special Introductory song.

Soundarya has planned to release the film for April 14th ( Tamil new years
Day ) . It is expected to beat Sivaji's records, and the trailer is already
being shown in more than 1200 theatres, all across the globe.

I hve similar experience where some of my friends who used to hear classic

really good like a latest album. He admit the sound is too good for some

Even Rahman mention, a lot critics condemn of his thiruda thiruda album during

that the above question will be answered! The sweetest I've met are
a part of the ARR family. This

should be a good starter, bear with me for being detailed-it's on
the request of a few members.

 Friday, 16th November 2007-Rehearsal

Met the first sweet person of the trip in the airport-Varun Nair of
our group. Now that's what is called a coincidence, meeting a group
member for the first time, that too in an airport going for the same
concert in the same flight. After a series of lies and saving up
money-I finally reached Delhi. And the first thing we see when we
landed was this huge AR Rahman Live In Delhi hoarding!! It was
convincing that the event was going to be big!! Thanks Varun for the
wonderful hospitality, can't be greatful enough for your sweetness.

The afternoon I met the group co-ordinator of the group Pawan
(Pawancumarr). Needless to say another sweetheart-Thank you Pawan
for all that you did, on behalf of the group let me thank you for
receiving us well in Delhi and entertaining us ( Vijay, smile
please!!). Varun and Pawan, to the two of them this was the first
concert and the excitement was obvious, so was mine-but having
worked in the Bangalore concert-I knew that much more than the
actual concert the rehearsal day is more pleasant for the fans.

It seemed like we were entering some fantasy land then-or should I
say, It was a fantasy-to be walking and talking with the people who
together with ARR give us –what we get to hear and to be under this
 wonderful community.

Forgive me again for writing this on a very personal viewpoint, but
I hope you guys understand what it is to be with such people. The
first one in the list was Sayanora Philip.

Thankfully acquainted with her-the entry into the musical camp was
even easier. We spoke for almost an hour-snapped photos, one of the
best ever! For those who are not familiar with this name-Sayanora is
the voice behind Sivaji's Athiradee and a few other popular non ARR
numbers in both Malayalam and Tamil. We got introduced to Tanvi Shah-
the stunning voice that sang Fanaaa fron Yuva/Ayutha Ezhutu
complimentary to ARR's high pitched voice and numbers like Jillunu
oru Kadhal to name a few.

A few more clicks. A few more smiles and poses. Tons of
satisfaction. But most importantly, it's the feeling that Humbles
you down-that people who share the stage with ARR, are here with us
for an hour or more-talking about our group, Rahman, the malls and
the dust in Delhi!! I'm sure Varun and Pawan agree-it was almost
like we knew Tanvi and Sayanora for ages.

Artists entered one after another-Aslam, Hariharan, Blaaze, Murtaza
and Qadir, Neeti, Kailash Kher and the rest made entry one by one.
Most of them we were able to catch up with, talk to and take snaps
with-while the others were just too busy rehearsing.

Blaaze recognized me-all I had to say was Yahoo! And Bangalore and
almost like lightning he comes up with Aah Dude-Yo! I remember!
How can I forgot you guys!??

He spoke to for us a long time again-and more interesting trivia on
ARR-how he works and how he makes things work. He spoke about how he
unexpectedly made his debut with B to the A to the B….and no looking
back after that-rightfully as put by some newspaper BLAAZE-Blaazing
with Rahman!! Guys don't shoot me for this one-Blaaze showed us and
spoke to us about some upcoming surprises by ARR!! All I can say is
I can't wait! And as promised to Blaaze, we won't talk about it. And
let it all come as a surprise-worth the wait! By this time we were
all lost in a new world-dashing shoulders with singers and bumping
into media people who would just have one question Has ARR
 Arrived?

Almost half past seven-A Black 5 series BMW, sleek and long makes an
entry. And quietly putting his left foot down was the man whose
music features in TIME's all time top ten, whose music lists as
multiple entries in the oscar and the same man who brought us all
together- AR Rahman. The first thought was-I can die right now and
I'll have no regrets, the happiness you get when one sees this man
 is multi-himalayan in heights!

But No! Wait for the rehearsals. The stage was not completely ready-
the production team was working-hammers and tools. The musicians
were busy tuning their instruments and Mr. KJ Singh and H Sridhar
were busy checking for minute specifications, whilst ARR dressed in
a black Formal Blazer supervised the whole stage. It looked chaotic-
everyone one stage running about-the mics kept on and you can hear
commands in Hindi English and Tamil. There is a sudden silence and
there was a familiar sound-it sounded like JA-or was it

Re: [arr] Disappointed

2007-11-21 Thread Arijit Debnath
I think music is never being wasted specilally created by Rahman we are
listeners...we are not here to check whether it fits to movie or not. For me
(like non tamilian) most of the times we are not able to watch these Tamil
moviesbut we enjoy the music to the fullest... so for a bigger audience
music is never a wastage.

Also how many of us are fortunate enough to watch Bombay Dreams? Mostly
none. But we all are enjoying the music so it doesn't matter whether
the music used in Bombay Dreams is wastage or not. Just enjoy the
magic/music created by Rahman.

i personally feel Rahman has wasted his music. ATM is a nothing movie ..
the second half of the movie is intolerable... except the songs and BGM the
film is nothing. vijay has danced well for the tunes of ARR.. but the
 screen play is horrible...

 *Sai [EMAIL PROTECTED]* wrote:

If you didnt like the movie, its your problem. ARR gives the music for
the film, and does the re-recording. After that, the movie is solely in
the hands of the director and others. The failure of a movie AT THE BOX
OFFICE does not mean they have devalued Rahman's music. In ATM's case,
its purely the case of the fans not accepting its hero in such a
 different film.

Movie is not a flop. It will break even. May be in terms of expectation
(of the movie, not the music), it could be termed a failure.

Kindly reread my mail. Nobody said ATM songs have flopped. The movie
did. Arr's hardwork can be seen in each and every track, and if you
feel ATM movie justified his vision, then i feel sorry for you
