Now here is some news that you never hear every day; Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is gunning for Shah Rukh Khan as he eyes up two roles that Shah Rukh Khan has recently either turned down or shelved. Raj Kumar Hirani's Five Point Something and Shankar's Robot. Firstly, let us tell you about Five Point Something Munnabhai director Raju Hirani is still adamant on doing his much talked about prokect Five Point Something, and he is now lining up Aamir Khan for the main lead in the film. The same lead role that Shah Rukh Khan turned down a few weeks ago. It seems that Aamir himself has expressed an interest in working in this. Aamir has previously accepted roles for which Shah Rukh Khan was approached initially. Most of these `leftovers' have become massive hits. Finally,
the twosome has come together. After a lot of on-off parleys with
various stars, Shankar has finally decided to go with Ajith. The
handsome hero will be the hero of his dream project' Robot', which is a
science fiction flick.
First it was said that Kamal Haasan would do it. But
it did not take off. Then, after Sivaji, the official announcement came
that Shah Rukh Khan was willing to do the role and produce it as well.
However, we heard the news that King Khan had finally refused to do the
film. Now, it has been confirmed that Ajith has accepted to don the
role.
Despite being the leading stars, Ajith and Vijay
haven’t done any film with ace director Shankar, who has proved his
mettle as a leading director with guaranteed success, handling big
stars and big budget. Hence, acting in his film is a dream of many
heroes.
Ajith, who is fresh and confident after the 'Billa'
experiment, is raring to go. The actor, who hasn’t had good run at the
box office for sometime now, is confident that 'Billa' would change
everything.
It is believed that Ajith will come to Shankar’s film after finishing his next
directed by dancer turned director Raju Sundaram.
The coming together of the Ajith, who has a good
opening despite his failures, and Shankar, a proven victor, could prove
to be a deadly combination.

with all the delays for the TV promo and audio release one can be sure that Ashutosh is not 100% satisfied with what he has made because a movie which is of this calibre needs atleast 2 months time for promotion be it music or TV promos..i hope that the delay doesnt make the movie a disaster...

This news item sounds very unlike Shankar. I did not know even an iota of the storyline before any Shankar release and for Robit now you arguably know pretty much the whole thing. You may get feelers and rumors before his release but thats about it. I sense something is fishy and this news feed may not be entirely true. Or atleast I hope, because Shankar is all about hype, grandiose, meaningful messages and anxiety factor and I would love for that to continue with all his films. Infact even film projects by his assistants are usually tightlipped until release. JA really overjoyed to see the excitement. I am sure it will surpass our expectations as always :) Jagdeesh

I can understand the group's enthusiasm in seeing ARR garner as many awards as
possible. I personally think awards in general and on-line voting in particular
is very flawed, so why even care and expend energies?

I dont think its illegal because cnn-ibn allowed multiple votings . If they didnt allow i didnt have voted more than once . Ok tell me none of you voted more than once? , i dont think so . In reality shows they do the same thing. I did not vote more than once for LOTR because they didnt allow multiple votings . We have 10,000+ fans in our fan club and 3,00,000+ fans in orkut ,but its of no use because more than 94% of them did not even vote a singe vote for both tere bina and LOTR . So i took the responsibility to vote more. Well let me explain you what really is Autokeyboard . It is a program which does given instructions automatically. I used to vote multiple votes for tere bina by using F5 and enter key which i think every one of you did. But i got bored so i thought of using a software to press F5 and enter key automatically so that i dont get tired. Thats it If you think its illegal then I cant help u I could have easily voted multiple votes for LOTR by changing my machine ID by removing some drives and changing my modem(USB port) But I did not do that because its illegal incase of LOTR.

Dude ! we dont need to drag ARR's name whether he would like to win so. But we fans like to see ARR not losing so with such a wonderful song competing. It is absolutely between the website that calls for voting and the fans who are real admirers of their favorite personalities. When multiple votings are allowed, to me what Yuva had done is right to see from fans' shoes, when fans of other personalities listed there try their wrong ways like putting Tere Bina to zero % or if vote for tere bina some other song's rating goes up. It is first wrong for any website to allow multiple voting. Secondly as for fans it is their choice mere admiration to see their person not losing in votes. Fair play had to be considered mutually both from fans and website's part. Otherwise this is right to say tit for tat. Rahman You are judging a reality show on a TV channel. You normally shun the spotlight so what made you decide to be a part of 9Xs Mission Ustaad? I think the concept is very new. Of singers coming together to produce new songs. The UN angle is, of course, very special. Mission Ustaad is making the entire album for the UNs Millennium Goals. Its not about who is winning and who is losing. It is about what they are doing. In the long run, it will hopefully change the views of people. So theres a lot of good things, I guess. You are known to be very particular about your music, down to the last note. How is it judging the music composed by singers who have worked with you? I think all of them are very competent people. There are very experienced people like Roopkumar Rathod and Kailash Kher and then you also have very new, young people like Naresh Iyer and Shweta Pandit. Initially they were all interested in what the other pairs were doing but now slowly they are coming into their own. They are not only singing the songs, they are also performing them. And thats very interesting to watch. Clive Owen and Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age What is your stance as a judge on the show, since judges seem to follow a pre-meditated path... Initially in the first two episodes the singers knew what they were doing but I guess they were not that clear about what kind of music to produce. I was trying to guide them in that. The focus is there and the performances have gone to the next level. I dont need to fight with the other judges. I just try to be honest. You had earlier come up with the single Pray for me brother for the United Nations. What kind of role does music play in the UN work? Music can play a very important role in transforming lives. I have been told so many times how people have heard one line in one song and their lives have changed. I listened to the song and I fell in love. I listened to the song and decided not to commit suicide. These things come out from inside. Songs have the power in them. What we are trying to do is put each issue in a way that people would listen to the songs again and again. They are not preachy. And they are not one-off songs; they can be enjoyed again and again. That is the quality we are looking at. What is your take on all these musical reality shows on television? In my opinion, it is a very good thing. We always see so many bad things on TV. We see murder, we see bomb blast, that and this. Whats the problem in seeing singers and good music? Art is a very good thing for the society. It means we as people are going in the right direction. How has a weekly TV show changed your work schedule? All my directors have been very understanding. I have told them how important the show is. They have all supported me by letting me finish this. I am also trying to do all my film work in the morning and shoot for the show in the evenings. But you always composed at night? I am changing that (laughs out loud). Now, I get up in the morning, do my film work, visit the studio and shoot in the evening. My whole new lifestyle is all about Yash Raj Studios. It is very comfortable. I am recording my film songs here and also shooting next door for Mission Ustaad. You finally did your first Hollywood score in Shekhar Kapurs Elizabeth: The Golden Age. How was the experience? It was great! I think the missing link I had in my career is over. I always had this doubt whether I would be able to do a Hollywood score. Now, that for me, as a self-assurance I can say, I can do it. And that too I did it my own way. Its a great beginning for me and it will also work as a great experience for me in my future work. You know, working on such a big canvas, with such a big studio. Their whole working style is so different. Now, I am learning the other way. The Jodhaa Akbar poster How is your foreign stage musical Lord of the Rings doing? Lord of the Rings is doing very well. It has been booked till September next year. We just finished the album. Its sponsored by Jet Airways which is another first an Indian airline sponsoring a Western album. Its just fantastic. A big statement from India. On the Bollywood front your next release is Jodhaa Akbar. How has it turned out? I dont want to say much but its very interesting. Me and Ashutosh (Gowariker) have always done a lot of good things (Lagaan, Swades). Its a period film this time again. And it can be period boring and period interesting. [arr] Another Rahman album growing on me
Frnds, I feel like sharing my experience with sillunu oru kaadhal album. I was really disappointed when it was released, bcos apart from munbe vaa newyork nagaram I didnt like other songs from it. But now since last week machakari jillunu oru kaadhal is growing on me badly that i am playing it continuously. Orchestration is too good.
