[arr] SINGER MOHAMMED ASLAM - RAHMANIA SHOW - BAKRID SPECIAL

2007-12-21 Thread Vithur
Hi Rahmaniacs,

At the outset, Wishing all Muslim Members a very happy Eid- Ul- Mubarak.

Today, in Rahmania Show, There was singer Mohammed Aslam, ( who has sung "
Ponmagal Vandhal Remix " from ATM, Ilamai song from Varalaaru ) present with
Raihana, and the show was very interesting. The excerpts are as below :-

*Introduction *
Mother Tongue - Hindi. Basically from Bangalore now. started singing from
age of 15. Has not learnt music anywhere, but has been inspired from Singers
like Mohammed Rafi, SPB, jesudas, Kishore Kumar etc . First Tamil Film that
he sang was Natanam. Has sung for Poove Unakkaga, Love Today etc ( Non ARR
Films ) . he was introduced to ARR, by Film Producer R.B. Chowdhary ( Super
Good Films ) during the Pooja of Mr. Romeo. That time, he gave his cassette
to ARR for his perusal. Later, when ARR called on him, but he was not in
India. He has toured a lot of countries and had performed stage shows. US,
Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Middle East etc

Born with 3 brothers, 3 sisters. Musical Family. All are capable of singing.
Mother sings informally at home. Actually, when he sings, people expect and
want him to sing like some other reputed singer . He used to feel
embarrassed, when people used to say that he sang better than the original
singer.

He sings " Sahana Song ( Sivaji ) " in MOhd Rafi's style.

*FIRST MEETING WITH ARR *

he was in jeddah ( Saudi Arabia ) . At that time, some of his friends told
him that ARR was there in town, and he went and meet ARR. Later ARR wanted
him to sing a song for ' Dile Ne Jise Apna Kaha " ( Salman starrer Film ) .
ARR wanted Aslam to come to London for recording, but Aslam was in the US at
that time, and was refused a Tourist Visa. So he missed that opportunity.
Later, there was some problem with the film, the script was changed, because
of tuffle between Aishwarya Rai & Salman at that time. The first song that
he recorded with ARR was the song ' Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha". The Lyrics was
ready, and when he started singing, ARR told him to be softer; little more ;
and little more, and this happened thrice. At the final stage, he was
just whispering, and that was what ARR wanted from him for that song.

After 2 years, The Hindi Version of Swades was finished, but ARR wanted
Aslam to sing in the Tamil version ( Desam ) . He sang " Unnai Kettal" (
Tamil Version of Yuhi Chala). he also sang " Kettene" ( Dekho Na ), along
with Sadhana Sargam. He used to write in English and sing for Tamil Songs.

Then came Paatshala song for RDB. Then came " Ilamai" song for Varalaaru. he
says ' ARR was so kind hearted to give me the remix version of Ilamai song
". The song was recorded only once, but the remix version was processed
twice. The original song " Ilamai" also used to contain some yodeling in
between , which was quite unique about Aslam.

Once ARR was in his studio, sitting with his laptop, when Aslam was just
yodeling . ARR suddenly asked him whats that. Then ARR encouraged him by
saying that we will use it in a different song.

Khalbali Song - He has sung with ARR

in Guru - he has sung "Dum hara Dum Hare Mast " along with ARR . He sang
the song " Roja Janeman" in Kishore Kumar style.

2. Aslam used to do Yoga, breathing exercises regularly. he says that
Singing is like breathing to him, and hence he never takes it to be a
difficult task*. ARR had made him cry at moments like he says " Sariya Paadu
Ayya ( Sing properly man~!!!) ". Then he used to encourage him by saying " U
are getting it near". ARR used to say "Only if I scold, Your songs will
become a Hit". *

3. Once, when aslam 's show was scheduled, his younger brother passed away,
but he covered that tragedy and performed the show. He says that any artist
will have to cover the tragedy that happens in his / her life, but make the
audience happy. Like an actor who acts in front of the camera, a singer has
to act in front of the Microphone.

4. Whenever, Aslam tours with ARR for concerts, he used to be disciplined.
He says that the troupe of ARR consists of Class Musicians , and the
ambiance also was very different. Both Young Generation , as well as Old
Generation come and listen to ARR Music. The speciality of ARR was that even
Pop Music used to contain melody in it. He says " I really enjoy ARR music,
and feel honoured ". At times, ARR used to tell him to learn music, or even
come notation so that he could catch up the tune little easily.

5. Recent song " POnmagal Vandhal" ( Azhagiya Tamizh Magan ) -
He hasn;t heard the older version before. Just before recording, he heard it
once. He sang in his original style, but ARR wanted a young voice, a young
boyish voice for that song.
He says that Young Generation also like Old Songs, but with new touches. Its
like " Old Wine in a new Bottle".

[arr] JA music release

2007-12-21 Thread Gopal Srinivasan
An update from Vijay:

The music release of JA has been indefinitely postponed. It will not release
before January
2nd, at least.

[arr] Announcements of JA music release dates are not going to be believed

2007-12-21 Thread Chord
First, Nov 27th, then Dec 4, then Dec 18, then Dec 25, 27, 28, and now
postponed.? I think I'm going to shut my mind off of JA for a
while rather than bear with this constant frustration of delays,
delays, and more delays. It's my fault for paying too much attention
to the release dates announced. I'm not believing any more release
dates announced, unless, it's straight from the horse's mouth and
announced officially everywhere. Even then, I will be doubtful. The
only way I'm going to know is when I actually listen to the
soundtrack.

RE: [arr] Will there be a JA audio launch?

2007-12-21 Thread Sai Theodore
Just now I received an email from music yogi stating that it is releasing on
second week of jan.

Subject: [arr] Will there be a JA audio launch?

I know they're working on getting the CDs out with the correct info.
Wlil there be an audio launch function, since the music is releasing
next Thursday? Still no official announcement, which has me worried
that the music will be delayed beyond the 27th.

have multiple voting allowed..i dont see any wrong in it..and i feel that this

forget this awesome album by our boss and it should get all it deserves in all
the award shows also..and recognition from this channel, would surely help
..even though it might not have that big impact...Just my opinion

Confirming the news, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the chief operating officer of UTV

better launch of the perfect combination of AR Rahman, Javed Akhtar,

Akbar was the Jodhaa UTV apt platform for the launch of his music.

However, the director of the music score, AR Rahman, does not stop raving
about music and the music of that Jodhaa

Heard the song jashn-e-bahara. The song is mind blowing... tooo romantic,
but in my wild imagination I can't fit the song to Akbar's character. Since
the moment I heard the song it seems its a very good replacement of "Ankho
me teri" from OSO.

Don't start throwing stones at me reading the mail... I just shared my
thought if you don't like pls ignore the mail and excuse me.

The 2007 nominations for the eighth annual Whatsonstage.com
Theatregoers' Choice Awards, recently announced at a star-studded
event at Café de Paris in London's West End, included 7 nominations
for The Lord of the Rings, now playing at the Theatre Royal Drury
Lane, London.

The Theatregoers' Choice Awards is the only major theatre prize-giving
decided by the public, who vote online. This year, a record 5,000
people took part in the nominations phase of the judging process, with
many thousands more expected to vote for the eventual winners, which
will be announced in February 2008.

The full nominations for The Lord of the Rings are:

Seventy years after J.R.R. Tolkien created Hobbits, all his amazing
characters come vividly to life on stage including Frodo, Sam, Merry,
Pippin and Bilbo, as well as Gandalf, Galadriel, Aragorn, Arwen,
Legolas and Boromir.

Shelob the Spider, an army of Orcs and Saruman's Black Riders
(Ringwraiths) take over the Theatre Royal Drury Lane 8 times a week as
The Fellowship undertake their adventure through Middle-earth to
destroy The One Ring.

The production has book and lyrics by Shaun McKenna & Matthew Warchus
and music by India's renowned composer A.R. Rahman, Finland's
celebrated Värttinä & Christopher Nightingale. The show is directed by
Matthew Warchus, with choreography by Peter Darling and set and

for release in January 2008. The hit show The Lord of the Rings is now
booking until September 2008, opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane
in June 2007.
