Perhaps I wasnt very clear about 'lot of songs' - those are many other songs in 
the movie which are composed by English composers but they released only 
Rahman's compositions. Simply great!

*Mumbai: *Double Oscar-winner AR Rahman is ready to roll out his first ever
non-filmy Western music album. He has teamed up with acclaimed soul singer
PJ Morton to produce a record that will have the both of them jamming
together.

A source close to the development says, Rahman and Morton had teamed up for
the soundtrack of the Hollywood Vince Vaughn-starrer *Couples Retreat* and
jammed together in the song Sajna. They had bonded really well. Now, the duo
has come together again for a documentary called *Son of a Preacherman* that
chronicles the life of the multiple award-winning artist and producer P J
Morton himself. *More importantly, Rahman and Morton are once again coming
together for a record that will be Rahman's first ever Western album.*

The source adds, After working on Sajna, they both decided to work together
and strengthen their relationship. It was Morton's wish that Rahman come on
board the cast of the movie based on his life. The movie will have scenes
showing Morton's relationship with his Christian father Paul Morton.

In the past, Rahman has had successful pairings with various international
artistes he has worked with. His aide adds, Morton and Rahman have had a
great time working together. So, his association with Morton can always
become more. We cannot say what he is planning now.

the updates regarding  ARR's international projects?? Really can't wait for

·    Make ring tone of our boss songs 
·    And also from BGM 
And please share with our group. 
Because when we use BGM or song as ring tone it has some noise , It is not 
clear in mobile, and also not loud as we required

While our usual food distribution event will take place as usual in Chennai
at the same time 11 30 AM ( near Am Studios, Kodambakkam) , lets also try
out doing a FD in Hyderabad . ( AR 's concert is scheduled on Saturday in
Hyd )

I would request Sirish to suggest a place in Hyd so that the same can be
carried out on Sunday from there...

You are right about it being a musical pattern...but it is not unique to ARR 
nor to any one music director...

It is simply the result of time or thaalam that you are noticing such

To put it Mathematically, if the time for a particular song goes 
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8, the lyricist may write to fit to 1-2 3-4 5-6-7-8 (which give 
you the three-line pattern you notice, all with in the first full time) or the 
lyricist may see fit to write to 1-2-3-4 5-6-7-8 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8, where the 
three-line pattern is now spread over twice the time.

For the first type, Kadhal Rojavae is an excellent example.
Kadhal Rojavae is 1-2 Engae Nee-engae is 3-4
Kanneer Vazhiyuthadi Kannae is 5-6-7-8

For the second type, Ilayaraja's excellent composition for Nilavae Vaa from 
Mouna Raagam.
Nilaavae Vaa Selladhae Vaa is 1-2-3-4
EnnaLum Un ponvaanam naan is 5-6-7-8
Enai Needhan Pirindhaalum Ninaivaalae Anaithaenae is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.

Note that 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 are just the times and do not correspond to any 
specific note. I am not formally trained in music, but I can decipher patterns 
and this is what I noted, so experts please correct any errors and omissions I 
may have made.

I have yet to watch the movie thus, I really don't know if there were songs 
composed by other composers. But as far as ARR's compositions are concerned, he 
not only composed but  he produced the soundtracks as well. That could be the 
reason why only his compositions were released on CD.

  Perhaps I wasnt very clear about 'lot of songs' - those are 
many other songs in the movie which are composed by English composers but they 
released only Rahman's compositions. Simply great!

 Couples Retreat movie got a lot of songs, but only Rahman's compositions are 
 released on CD.. hence a sincere thank this time!
