Fwd: [arr] LIVE CHAT WITH ARR

2010-02-04 Thread Srini Santhanam
Let me clarify that i'm not trying to compare AR & MJ or their music -
I would never do that. What I meant in my earlier note is to point out
that they don't have the same celebrity status. 'Jai Ho' the song has
an universal appeal but I don't know if it's the same for Rahman, the
brand.

From a non-Indian public point of view, they all love the song but i
wonder how many might recognise Rahman yet. I have had few experiences
where people have said they love Chaiyya Chaiyya, but they didn't know
it was composed by Rahman.

It's gonna take a few more collaborations and few more Jai Ho's before
Rahman looses the liberty to take those early morning walks in LA
which he can afford now :)

Personally I think AR is not yet there in terms of 'Universal
appeal'. He is probably 2-3 more Jai Ho's away from

reaching there.

How can anybody say 'after MICHAEL JACKSON's death..'?
MJ's albums are selling like hot cackes even after his death.
MJ and AR are unique..There is no rat race going on..
nobody can replace MJ and also there is no one like AR.

Re: [arr] AR's Official website

2010-02-04 Thread adam dasari
I have a feeling that there might be a reason for not updating the "coming
soon" section!
I have heard ARR himself mention in an earlier interview somewhere that quite a
few international (hollywood) projects/directors might have overlooked him just
because of the long list of his forthcoming projects listed on IMDB, wikipedia,
and maybe the official site!!!
It is just my GUESS that maybe that's the reason.
I can see a problem with it...since it is the official website it ought
to be updated with all the information!!!
However, as a HUGE fan of ARR, I can be forgiving of that
fact...especially since most of us know of the upcoming projects, as they
are revealed by none other than ARR himself in recent interviews!
Another point, I'd rather hear about projects that are most likely to
materialize rather than hear about every rumor of a project that's untrue or
eventually is bound to be categorized as "shelved"!!! (having said that I am
deeply disappointed [and I am sure I speak for most of us fans] that Rajeev
Menon and ARR will not be working on "Dhun"; that's definitely one project I
was hoping not to be shelved)!!!
Anyways.just felt like rambling on.thanks for bearing with my
thoughts

Is it me or does anyone else find the 'coming soon' doors on the website
slightly unecessary? If it has a purpose, then that's fine but it's been there
for a while now.  All the media attention in recent times surely must be
increasing visits to his site. My intention is not to condemn the work that's
gone in so far into the website (which I think is fantastic) but I request that
whatever features that were setout in the original website development plan
should be completed without too much delay or removed if deemed not necessary
any more, in order to retain the overall professional look it has.  My humble
request.

Noticed them with 3 Idiots promotion (first audio launch & then Aamir Khan chat

[arr] Naga Chaitanya is cute, says Rahman

2010-02-04 Thread A.R.Rajib
Naga Chaitanya is cute, says RahmanIndiaGlitz [Thursday, February 04, 2010]

At the audio release function of 'Ye Maya Chesave, AR Rahman said that Naga
Chaitanya looked "very cute". Chaitanya must be feeling too happy as the
compliment comes from someone like ARR.

Yemaya.. has music by the Mozart of Madras. The audio was released on the
3rd. Chaitanya did not only get the compliment from Rahman, he also got
best wishes from the director Gautham Menon and Krishna's daughter Manjula
and others on the occasion, who said that he was talented.

Mr. Menon said that Naga Chaitanya was "a wonderful artist." Saying that
he will make his father and grandfather proud, he said that the actor will
get affection from one and all.

Manjula said that Ye Maya Chesave will be a turning point in Chaitanya's
career. That this one is an important film for the junior is clear, because
not only was his first film a below average grosser at the BO, but also
because this time his film has famous technicians like Gautham and Rahman
associated with it.

Before his third film with Kamakshi Kala Movies goes on the floors in the
month of March, it seems that Chaitanya will achieve grand debut success at
the BO.

Watching ARR holding the Grammys, i got so excited yesterday that i wrote a
poem on him with the help of the titles of few movies done by him.. I dedicate
this poem to Rahman sir and all my beloved Rahmaniac brothers and sisters..!!
so here's my poem with translation:

THE LEGEND OF RAHMAN

Rahman ji, Rahman ji, aap hi ho suron ke sartaaj,
Aap hi to GODFATHER  ho humaare,
Aap hi ho humaare YUVRAAJ.

Suna humne aap hi ko sadaa,
Bha gayi humein aap ki har ek ADA .
BOMBAY se lekar DELHI-6 tak ghumaaya aapne,
BLUE ko BULLU kehna sikhaaya aapne.

Zindagi ki iss DAUD mein
aap hi bane humaare SAATHIYA,
Chal padi geeton ki aisi FIZA,
Jiske aage na tik paaye aandhiyaan.

Banke YUVA aapne sunaayi humein
MANGAL PANDEY ki kranti ki PUKAR,
Fir bane aap JODHA ke AKBAR
or KHWAJA ji ki rehmat ki hone lagi bouchhaar.

DIL HI DIL MEIN, DIL SE, DIL NE JISE APNA KAHA
Wo aap hi toh ho,
Kabhi humaare GURU, kabhi humaare STAR
Wo aap hi toh ho.

HEAVEN aur EARTH ke beech ke CONNECTIONS
Aap hi ne to jode hain,
Bol ke VANDE MATARAM jaane kitne hi log
Apne SWADES ki ore mode hain.

JAI HO ki TAAL pe jhoom rahe
Ab to sab ke sab,
Kheech lo koi bhi LAKEER
THE LEGEND OF RAHMAN nahi rukega ab.

Kehna tha bas yehi mujhe
iss NAYAK ke baare mein,
Aaj bhi ek alag hi TEHZEEB hai
Duniya ke iss chamakte sitaare mein.

LOVE YOU HAMESHA sir..!! JAI HO..!! :-)

Rahman ji Rahman ji, you are the crown of  musical notes,
You are our godfather,
You are our prince.

We always listened to you,
We liked every style of yours,
You made us travel from Bombay to Delhi-6,
You taught us how to say BULLU in place of BLUE.

In this run for life,
You only became our companion,
Such a breeze of songs started to blow,
In front of which even the storms cannot stay.

Becoming a youth you told us
Mangal Pandey’s call for the revolution,
Then u became Jodha’s Akbar
And Khwaja ji’s blessings started to rain.

Within the heart itself, whom the heart called someone its own from the heart
(it’s tough :P)
That’s you,
Sometimes our teacher, sometimes our star
That’s you.

You only joined the connections between heaven and earth,
You only turned numerous people towards their nations by saying vande mataram.

Now everyone is dancing to the rhythm of jai ho,
Put any border but the legend of Rahman will not stop.

I just had to say this about this hero,
That even today this shining star has special elegance..!!

THRONE of being the INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR MUSICIAN!

But if possible, give us a date and time, when ARR would be somewhat free;
and do arrange a LIVE chat with him!!

Thanking You,

[arr] AR's Official website

2010-02-04 Thread Indmov Buff
Is it me or does anyone else find the 'coming soon' doors on the website
slightly unecessary? If it has a purpose, then that's fine but it's been there
for a while now.  All the media attention in recent times surely must be
increasing visits to his site. My intention is not to condemn the work that's
gone in so far into the website (which I think is fantastic) but I request that
whatever features that were setout in the original website development plan
should be completed without too much delay or removed if deemed not necessary
any more, in order to retain the overall professional look it has.  My humble
request.
