[arr] Watched Raavan trailer in cinema

2010-06-06 Thread Pravinder
Guys,
I went to see Raajneeti (Good movie) and watched Raavan trailer.
It was just a stunning experience to see the trailer in cinema.
I am damn sure that Raavan movie watching experience is gonna be one of the
best things in life.

Can't wait.

[arr] ARR lost IIFA to Pritam

2010-06-06 Thread Jahanzeb
It is ridiculous to say that LAK had better music than D6. it is such a blunder
by IIFA. it seems after giving ARR three in a row they just wanted someone else
to win this time. anyways in fact it is loss of IIFA's credibility.

btw don't see any message regarding this here since tomorrow. wondering is it
deliberately being avoided.

ridiculous the whole thing was. Kareena Kapoor for best actress? c'mon! she

Bringing their

'A' game

I pity the fool who's not aware of this week's big movie debut. Guilty
pleasure '80s series The A-Team gets a contemporary reboot, with Liam
Neeson, above, Bradley Cooper, Quinton Rampage Jack-son and Sharlto Copley
starring as a quartet of Iraq War veterans wrongfully accused of committing
a crime. Jessica Biel adds the eye candy for fanboys, as if the barrage of
explosions won't be enough.

'Bionic' girl

It's been four years since Christina Aguilera's last album of originals, but
the drought ends Tuesday when the singer unleashes Bionic. The regular
disc contains 18 tracks, with the deluxe edition adding five more. Remember
when the pop world revolved around onetime Mickey Mouse Club mates
Aguilera and Britney Spears? It's been a while, but Bionic is Aguilera's
play to reclaim her place amongst the dance-pop elite.

In the hole?

Tiger Woods' troubles have been well publicized. We'll see whether his
turbulent personal life and uneven golf game affects his marketing muscle
when Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 hits stores Tuesday. How gamers react to it
could indicate how far Woods' star has fallen.

2010-06-06 Thread Roshan
it's nice to see someone else winning the award for a change. D6 is a
phenomenal album and we love it. It's impossible to judge that album because
it is a text book for composers.

But AR getting an award (except the Oscars and Grammys and National awards)
is a usual thing. so, let him win. it will not make the D6 album any less
enjoyable.

Pritam will be a happy man too. He's been loosing out to AR for a long time.

Re: [arr] Re: ARR lost IIFA to Pritam

2010-06-06 Thread vedavid manick
What happens with alot of these foreign awards, is that they tend to give the
people who attends the wards...it looks good on screen. This year alot of
people were not around due to the Sri Lanka thing, so these wards need to be
taken with a pinch of salt.

To Pritam i congratulate him. Love Aaj kal was certainly not his best, if he
won, I would like to think it should have been for his excellent score for Tum
Mile. He is very good at mass appeal, and i would like him to continue working
hard...its been a while since anyone could accuse him of plagarism.

A R Rahman need not get other awards anymore to prove his worth, although it is
great to know that he wins for his hard work.

India seriously needs to get awards with a reputation of being fair, like the
Oscars. Not taking into consideration star power.

Nope, thats not correct! ARR didnt attend because of Jai Ho concerts, not
because of Tamil protests.
IIFA has given awards to some weird nominations this time (not only in Music
categories), perhaps it was different jury this time. Hoping to have better
results next year onwards.
Nevertheless, congratulations to Pritam!

[arr] Usage of Shehnai

2010-06-06 Thread Praveen
Am listening to 'Vedam' movie songs (telugu). Shehnai is used in an
emotional song Malli puttani.. It is so touching and reminded me of Yeh
jo desh hai.. from Swadesh where shehnai was used.
Leader (telugu) theme instrumental was again shehnai version. It was such an
amazing song.
I think Rahman made it more popular by using in emotional /patriotic songs
as well as with innovative usage in other songs like chiggy wiggy etc

By the way, Vedam telugu movie is an excellent film. Highly recommend it!
