In the 'Maricham' Song the tone mentioned by you, comes at the beginning and
the end.

It's just a 'sample tone' , Prasanth Bro..
In the Trailer it comes around 00:36 - 00:40.

AR used the same tone at many a times in SOK and RDB Background Scores.. In SOK
when Surya remembers his past and in RDB when Madhavan's Mom gets her memory
back (just after the final firing scene at All India Radion Station.)

Anyway thanks a lot Bro.. Maricham is in loop now ! :-)

[arr] Sakkarakatti...

2008-09-28 Thread John Edward
Hi All,

I watched sakkarakatti today...
This must be the biggest mistake that our boss could have commited and could
commit (i meant doing music for such a movie)...
I was watching the movie only for the songs.
The movie sucks big time. I have almost gone mad watching it...
I really dont know how this movie has come to screen...

If u think im over exaggerating on this, then please watch the movie and make a
comment.

Hi,

I was watching the after-match interview of US Open with Roger Federer (RF)
when I noticed the very distinguishable RF on his cap; that was when I also
remembered about Michael Schumacher having his own brand logo in the form of an
F1 car. Does ARR have one? If not yet, could some of the artists in the group
think of one? The arrahman.com site and wikipedia could serve as good
propaganda platforms once launched.

Hi,

I was listening to the Ratchagan album today after a long time. All the
songs are good. I like Pogum vazhiyellam parthein from this album very much. I
just thought that this song wasn't discussed about much anywhere. The intro,
the rhythm and the guitar portion is too good. Even the way chitra has sung it.
This song is superb. This is a very rare song. What do you think guys??

[arr] ADA vs JTYJN

Hi guys..
To my opinion ADA is soulful one while JTYJN is youthful.
but both are the great gifts from our boss this summer. i really relish every
song from the both.
my pick from the duo is 'kabhi kabhi...', then i would give 'meharbaan' and
'hawa sun hawa' the next place...

[arr] Maaricham from JOK

2007-11-02 Thread John Edward
hi guys,

i have never seen u guys talking much about the song maaricham from JOK.
for me its the second best song in the album (obviously munbe and newyork both
take the first place).
i have very less knowledge abt music to describe it but wat i could say is that
its a very different attempt
(particularly i love the second half) and
i always feel bad that it din come as a full song in the movie and that it was
not used utilized.

any comments on this song guys??

[arr] All about A.R.Rehman..

2005-09-23 Thread John Edward

The Prodigy... All about A.R.Rehman..   Beginning of an era...
  Date of birth : 6th January, 1966. Father: R.K.Sekhar.
His father was an arranger and conductor in Malayalam movies. A.R.Rehman (then Dileep ) started learning the Piano at the age of four. When A.R.Rehman was at the age of 9, his father passed away. At the age of 11, he joined Maestro Illaiyarajas troupe as a keyboard player. His mother Kareema Begum stood behind him and encouraged him to follow his father's footsteps. This had an adverse effect on his education forcing him to drop out from the school. He also played on the orchestra of M.S.Vishwanathan and accompanied Zakir Hussain and Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan on various world tours. All this experience enabled him to earn a scholarship to the famed Trinity College of Music at Oxford University from where he obtained a degree in Western Classical Music. He was also a part of local rock bands like Roots, Magic and Nemesis Avenue etc. Then he started composing ad jingles. Rahman did a lot of popular ads like those for Parry's, Leo Coffee, Boost, Titan, Premier
Pressure Cooker, Hero Puch and Asian Paints. He also did couple of non film albumns like `Deen Isai Malai', `Set Me Free'. Then his turn to storm the tamil film industry came through Mani Rathnams Roja. Thereafter, no one could stop this YOUNG PRODIGY, who has taken Indian music to great heights in the international music arena. I am sure that this is just a beginning of his journey.
