Hey all... i tried working out this particular song some time back (when it was released). and yes it is in C#. (can be played in any scale though...of course) will try to post whatever i can when i get back to my keyboard...which i have not quite played with been a while sadly...:-( and the song is/seems to be based on a raag called Hamsadhwani or Hansadhwani ( i think) which is in on Bilawal thaat (all sudh swars - please technnical gurus, correct me if i'm wrong) Sa Re Ga Pa Ni Sa'. - Aaroha (Accent) Sa' Ni Pa Ga Re Sa - Avroha (Decent) The vaadi is Sa ( if i can recall) and ARR has used Sa quite a bit in that. it starts like... Yeh Joh Des Hai Tera (partial notes)G# C C# C# C# C# ... (check the number of times you play C#..maybe more or something!,...writing from memory!) Pa Ni Sa Sa Sa Sa ( see the Aaroha Sa Re Ga Pa Ni Sa) where G# = Pa C = Ni C# = Sa (note the emphasis on Sa = Vaadi) and in other places Sa is emphasised quite many times... look this is just from memory...so may be (more than) a bit sketchy...but will try to get other notes as well...later though...but please that would be how I heard and interpeted and worked it out...can't say will be/ is infallible...! so all errors mine! needless to say this is just another gem from ARR... keep contributing...! cheers... [arr] BOSE - Ekla Chalo - beat structure
Hi everyone. I bought 'Bose - the forgotten hero' yesterday and what wonderful music it has. Listening to the song 'Ekla Chalo' i wasn't 'easily' able to identify which taal it is based on. (yeah i know i'm not that classical trained!) Can anyone classically knowledgable enough out there (surely many!) please enlighten me with which beat structure / matra the song is based on. I think it is on 8 beats; with the 'tinging' rhythm on the 4th, 6th and 7th beat notes. I'm not sure if i'm quite descriptive here...but anyway. 'Des ki mitti' is on Rupak (7 matra), right? keep listening! Please help. cheers...
