[arr] [Semi-ARR] Niagara Trip video teaser

2009-06-09 Thread Sri Harsha
Hey guys,

I've been to Niagara trip and made a video teaser having ARR's music as
background. I like Jiya se Jiya song a lot. So I used it in my video. Just
wanted to share...

I agree. The BGM in Bombay is gujarathi folk. This topic was discussed in the
archives in the year 2000 already. But I am unable to pick a marathi flavoured
song. Maybe I have to think more

a nice explantaion for bengali nativity .like this we all need the
explanations for other nativities also.

In bombay, after heroine reach mumbai ie after marriage some marathi song will
be played as a BGMi think its a pure marathi tune later the same tune
had been used as 'accham accham illai' in a tamil film INDRA.can any
maharashtrian clear this one

As of me, rahman is the only person in bollywood who really gives the regional
touch in all his film. mostly all music directors would give their special
attention, if the film belongs to their own state...

but a.r.rahman gives all kind of music according to the requriement of film...
be it

gujathi - dhandia music in dil he dil mein

bengali - durga pooja festival music in Nethaji -the forgotton hero

kashmiri - BGM of roja

rajasthani - songs in Meenakshi as well as Mangal pandey

Hydarabadi - songs in meenakshi

punjabi - songs in Legend of Bhagat singh

Rural Kutch - songs in Lagaan

Ultra modern kolkata - Fanaa in Yuva

malayali - Jiya jale in Dilse

pure classical - songs in Kandukondein, Indra

rural Folk tamil - songs and BGM of Sangamam, Kizhaku Cheemaiyele

1940s filmi style - Songs of Zubeidaa, Iruver

For english people but of bollywood style - Bombay Dreams

Pure English style - Lord of the Rings Elizabeth

and los and lot.

I think nobody in india had given these much different styles.
and also people who belongs to that regions would feel really about their
nativity while hearing the songs..
we can discuss detailly about each style in many weeks.

Regards,

Anandh.P

Hello all,

Can anybody throw some light into AAR's music that had flavours from different
regions of india? For example, any song that had marathi flavour, gujarathi,
rajasthani etc.

Thanks!
Harsha

Hi icashwin - I'll go ahead with this one since I've sent this out to my
friends - few of 'em have confirmed. Let's plan another one on June 6th
(Saturday).

 Niyant,

may 9th may be too short of a notice now. do you want to move it to another
 weekend perhaps?

Hi icashwin - yes I know how it is. I think part of the problem is the
volume on the mailing list has increased a lot and I don't think ppl can
keep up with reading all mails - and notices like these would very well be
missed out. So, the info might not be reaching the ppl in the area. The
best way is if we can reach out to our network of arr-fanatic friends and
they can, in turn, do the same. Or better still, we could setup a
meetup.com group for ARR-fans. Let me know if you have suggestions.

Though, do write to me on niyant DOT dalal AT gmail DOT com if you're
  coming.

  Cheers,
  Niyant

Hi Niyant,

I am Steve, in West Virginia, about 5-6 hours from NY. Wish I could
make it to the get together, but I'm afraid I am bogged down with some
heavy work load that weekend. Hopefully, your initiative will kick
start a snowball and maybe I can meet NY Rahmaniacs in the near future!
I just want to let you know I appreciate your efforts and wish you lots
of fun on May 9th :-)

Steve!

 Hi,

I'm planning a get-together on May 9th (next Saturday) of ARR fans in
the NY/NJ area. I hail from Mumbai and have been in NY/NJ for abt two
yrs. Swapnil and some other local Mumbai fans used to meet there
regularly and we had great time at ARR meets. For a few hours we
would be talking, listening, watching and breathing everything-ARR. I
got only fonder of ARR through these meets. I've been a fan since
Roja days - after being to these meets I realized I was only one of
the many ARR fan-atics out there.

I thought it would be great to have something similar in the NY/NJ
 area!!

So, come on over -- if you're a fan from ARR's vintage-music years or
have just discovered his music through some his recent hits. With
last year's terrific music like Jodhaa Akbar, Ghaniji, Slumdog,
Elizabeth, etc. - we'll have lot of material to listen to, discuss,
critique, etc. We'll listen to some new/old music, discuss his
 new/old work, etc.

If this excites you -- you're most welcome to huddle at my modest
 apartment next Saturday.

 Contact
email: niyant DOT dalal AT gmail DOT com (preferable)
 phone: 646.259.3319
(Email me if you're interested and I'll send you the details)

 When
 3PM on Saturday, May 9th

 Where
At my apartment (mail me for the exact address details)

 What to get
Yourself (if you have some ARR concert DVD, rare interviews, etc -
 it's a bonus)

 Cheers,
 Niyant

PS: Swapnil ... you can see I'm missing our Mumbai jam sessions :)
