[arr] My thoughts on the music of Blue

2009-09-11 Thread greatest_arr_fan

Blue theme - rocking, thumping, cant stop dancing to this one.

Aaj Dil Gustakh hai - just one word to describe this one "addictive"

Fiqrana - easy, breezy, love the refrains of fiqrana

Rehnuma - inspired! Rahman is like a bartender - mixed several ingredients in
just the right amounts to create a potent cocktail.

Yaar mila tha - Fun!

Bhoola tujhe - too bland for my taste

Chiggy Wiggy - totally generic and mediocre.

Album ranking - 9/10 :)

[arr] Re: Quick rank ordering of Ghajini songs

2008-11-25 Thread greatest_arr_fan
My ranking and brief comments:

 1) Guzarish - Addictive stuff
 2) Kaise Mujhe Instrumental - Soulful, melodious, fantastic
 3) Bacchoo - Great rhythm and energy
 4) Bekha - Good overall but uneven in parts
 6) Kaise Mujhe - Did not like Benny's vocals. Shreya rocks!
 5) Ladoo - Very mediocre

[arr] Yuvvraaj rocks!

2008-10-17 Thread greatest_arr_fan
When i first heard the music i hated the album. I was struck by the
average/bad lyrics and the gimmicks such as animal noises in mastam
mastam and jarring alaaps in dil ka rishta.

However on the second (and third, fourth...) listening the inherent
soul of the music began to assert itself. The melody, the
orchestration, the complex musical arrangements have caused such an
impression that i went to bed haunted by Tu Muskura and started my day
listening to Mastam, Mastam during my drive to work.

Hats off to Rahman saab for some fresh and original compositions! I
agree with a lot of folk on this forums. Yuvvraaj it not in the league
of Swades, Bombay, Dil Se, Water. But I would rate it on par with Taal
and better than recent albums like Guru and Rang De Basanti.

Re: [arr] NAME The First Song That Comes To Your Mind by A R Rahman

2005-12-09 Thread greatest_arr_fan

I can't single out a single song, however, every time i think of ARR I
think of themes. These thematic pieces are simply mindblowing cos they
touch various emotions in your mind without lyrics to influence you.

Theme of Rangeela - Full of life, masti, beats...infectious!!
Theme of Bombay - passionate, soulful, melody at its best.
Theme of Swades - I love the classical influences in this one..the
shehnaii, tabla etc.
