Re: [arr] Digest Number 2534
Jagdeep, Honestly I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about as my technical knowledge on music is zero but I think this is the way future discussions should go rather than getting into dogfights. techies like you can analyse the music and people like me (with no technical knowledge) can say how ARR's music impacts on an emotional level. How about we select a particular ARR movie or a song and invite comments. I think this will be better than just discussing release date of movies or getting into heated arguments. any comments?? - Original Message - From: Jagdeep To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, April 04, 2005 3:55 PM Subject: Re: [arr] Digest Number 2534 hi Aditya Pawar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, I hope u r referring to baadal of yuva.it opens with the following instruments ( i guess !!!):- 1. synthesised sound of the wood bass which is most likely the reproduction of a Yamaha 900 pro synth ( i have played it and it is amazing !!!.) 2. then there are sounds thet seem like pizzicatoes.(8 plunk of voilin strings) continuously.( again synthesised.) 3. there is a single E note strumming of the steel string guitar continuously on every alternate beat( this too i ssynthesized i believe.) 4.there is the main rhythm that is a 4 beat rhythm played coninuously. 5.then there is the main tune plyed by a synth lead most commonly found in korg triton synth workstations and others like roland phantom... Re: [arr] Digest Number 2534-Jagdeep
Hi Jagdeep, Are u into synth programming and stuff? That was good reverse engineering on the intro. I have recently started learning such stuff and I am mostly into softsynths, and I own cubase and absynth and bunch of other free softsynths and VSTis. Regarding, loops and synth sounds in ARR songs, I wish he programmes his own sounds and loops, may be he does, but atleast he can avoid using some of the commercial samples accesible to most, or not use them as they are. I think it deprives him to an extent to have a certain unique Sound. I was really enamored by the synth sounds in Kannathil Muthamittal title intro, a flute kinda sound with a scratchy background, and then an added guitar tremolo kinda sound. But imagine my disappointment when I relaized them to be couple of Absynth presets. Same case with the drum loop in Ale Ale and sandhi kozhi, I thought he programmed it, but I heard it as a part of Big Fish audio demo. Though I liked the way the sounds have been used, and the resulting color to the song, I think it would make it more personal to me if they have not been some presets. Neways, would like to hear your thoughts too. Also, I have a question regarding the song Theendai from En Swaasa Kaatre. At the end of charanam and pallavi, there is a certain loop which seems to have its filter lowered. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Jagdeep <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > hi Aditya Pawar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, > > I hope u r referring to baadal of yuva.it opens with the following instruments ( i guess !!!):- > > 1. synthesised sound of the wood bass which is most likely the reproduction of a Yamaha 900 pro synth ( i have played it and it is amazing !!!.) > > 2. then there are sounds thet seem like pizzicatoes.(8 plunk of voilin strings) continuously.( again synthesised.) > > 3. there is a single E note strumming of the steel string guitar continuously on every alternate beat( this too i ssynthesized i believe.) > > 4.there is the main rhythm that is a 4 beat rhythm played coninuously. > > 5.then there is the main tune plyed by a synth lead most commonly found in korg triton synth workstations and others like roland phantom...
