As if the picture of ARR in a trance-like smile on the back cover was not stunning enough, the superb poster of Rahman behind the lyric sheet is an invaluable bonus. But let's not forget the immaculately designed package as a whole - well-chosen fonts, clear, crisp printing, eye-pleasing colours, cool montages of Ajit, and the elegant CD label artwork - the whole package looks and feels like a production from an international record label like Sony-BMG or Warner Records. A lot of thought has gone into its design, and it shows! So here's a huge, huge, kudos to those behind it (Sumeru Design house must be a major fan of ARR to have poured so much love into this package). I only wish I had a scanner so that everyone can see this beauty. The manufacturing quality is top-notch (thanks to Agi Music who seem to be leagues ahead from other Malaysian music labels like Alai Osai, Five-Star, etc).At S$12.50, it's considerably underpriced compared to international CDs which are normally not less than S$18. But I guess the price will be of some concern to the non-discerning buyer (used to the S$10 or less Malaysian versions) who may not see much value in the package. It's a risk, but a justified one. I only hope Agi and KM Musiq make a tidy profit so that they can keep up the great work. Here's to more such!PS. I would hesitate to add this, but I think the 'appeal to respect copyright' message could be avoided in future productions - it's the only 'unprofessional' aspect of the CD - but perhaps an understandable one considering it's the first such production. `Godfather` audio released! By Moviebuzz | Saturday, 18 February , 2006, 08:00 Finally after nearly two years after it was conceived, K.S.Ravikumar's Godfather has woken up from its deep slumber. On Friday (Feb 17) the audio of this Ajit starrer with music by A.R.Rahman was released without any fanfare in Chennai's music shops. The songs by Rahman are sure going to be popular in the coming days. Die-hard Rahman fans have been asking for the album which has been publicised a week before its actual launch. An emotionally charged Ravikumar who has been fighting against all odds to get Godfather project through said: "We wanted the music to be popular before the release and all the songs are going to be chartbusters". The buzz is that a Mumbai based corporate has shown interest in the project and may help release the film in theatres. The latest we hear is that Godfather may grace the theatres on or before March 17 as per agreement with AVM who wants to release Ajit's next film Tirupathi on April 14, Tamil New Year Day. The idea is that there should be a gap of at least one month between both the releases. And if Godfather cannot make it to the theatres by March 17, then it can release only by May end. The audio of Godfather is slated to release by this month end or first week of June. The copyrights of it, was brought by Meta Music Chennai. It will be probably contain one melody song, two kuthu songs, a sentiment song (which is sung by A.R Rahman) and a theme music or a situation song. Meanwhile the final schedule will begin on May 16th. The crew will work non-stop to finish the movie fast. And the movie will release by June end or first week of July. Yahoo!
