watched it the other day. i am glad that ARR didn't do it. it is a very average film, certainly AG's weakest, and a potential flop. it started off good but became boring and boring with each rashee. furthermore 3+ hours film with 12-13 songs is too much. and it would have been very painful to see ARR's 12-13 gems going wasted, double of what was wasted in Yuvraaj or Delhi 6. Sohail Sen did an okay job but nothing special. also he sounds too much like SEL. to me ARR's decision of not doing this film was very right. and i must say he should be careful of AG's film next time. this guy's work is becoming more and more mediocre with each film. - Jahanzeb --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, V S Rawat vsra...@... wrote: It is a different kind of thread, so please allow me. WYR is an average film... gets stretched because of songs ( one song per rashee was bit too much ). The movie was seen long back by us on DoorDarshan via a Hindi serial called Mr Yogi, the subject was old which brought down the movie... my guess. Since ARR and AG have given 3 good movies till date, could say that ARR's songs would have given some ZING to the movie but in the end due to repeat script, the movie lacked uniqueness. something which Ashutosh movies always have. while i want to see AG have Rahman in the next venture with Asin, I honestly did not miss Rahman in What's Your Raashee album at least (yet to see movie in the west indies) b ecasue Sohail Sen did a really good job. WYR is AG movie, so I was obviously looking forward the movie and its music (even though there was no ARR, but AG has great sense of music). New guy Sohail Sen (MIHO) has done justice ; given his best and songs are good and go very well according to the movie (actually its one of my fav non-ARR soundtracks of this year). Movie is 3 hr 30 min long (bit stretched at few parts), I personally liked it. But there are A LOT of people (actually almost everyone who watched) complaining about length of the movie.. in short, movie hasnt worked (depsite of fabolous performance of Priyanka Chopra). When music reviews came, most of 'critics' were praising the music, but during movie reviews they said there are too many songs, and because all of them arent equally good, a few of them could have been chopped off from the movie. Yes, I have read 2 reviews mentioned that ARR - AG combo was missed and there is not the magic that we saw in Lagaan, Swades JA. I personally am quite satisfied with outcome of the music and the movie, and I am also glad that ARR didnt do this. Movie is going to get status of Flop or below average on box-office.. since we already had Yuvvraaj Delhi-6 with great music and movies didnt work, so kinda gives me relief about WYR (though I am worried about Blue too) Had the movie worked if there was ARR's music - hmm not sure.
