WARNING Technical crap coming through Vocal / Instrumental extraction depends on lot of things. Most of the software available in the market can reduce vocal portions. Vocals can be eliminated completely only if it was panned in the center channel (or any one particular channel for that matter). Since there is no gurantee that there will be no other instruments in that channel this process is not accurate. There are lot of ARR songs, where the vocals pan through different channels which makes it more difficult. Moreover there are effects like reverb whose purpose is to spread thesound across the spectrum, making it more difficult to extract. It is like trying to remove egg from a chocolate cake after it is made. (Analogy shamelessly stolen from some body else). So if the vocals were recorded on a seperate channel (which probably was the case with people ripping pieces from DVD's), then it is easy. Coming to your question, there should be a tool called Channel convertor under Process. I remember a preset called Vocal Cut which should do the trick. Hi guys, Thanks for your appreciation. Now I need some help from you. In our group, one of the member has wrote that sound forge is the best software to extract vocals or delete vocals from the song, and I have downloaded the trial version of sound forge, but I even could not know how to operate this. Please someone suggest me how to use it appropriately. Thanks in advance.
