Re: [arr] Your Favourite SOng In Guru
For me: 1. Maya Maya -- never before heard fusion of Arabic and Gujarati folk. Once you get past the accent of Tottler, its really catchy and wonderful. Intrinsic layering including chorus harmonies make it even more fun to listen again and again. 2. Ae hairathe - perfect singer selection (I believe the first time after Bahoon de darimiyan, Hari and Alka together)..A fusion of Ghazals, Sufi, Italian (accordian)..brilliant. And of course lyrics are mind blowing in this one (kyu urdu farsi bolte ho) 3. Tere bina -- what can I say - another sufi feather in Rahman's cap. To be honest, would have preferred another singer here (e.g Sonu as it would have also suited Abhishek and been more realistic in terms of a hero singing). Also a silky voice like Sonu would have added extra magic to it. Of course, the presence of Chinmayee was a pleasant surprise! Lyrics are great..but yet to understand the significance of na ja souten pukare! 4. Jaagen hai der tak - really gives goosebumps. Very nicely done. Imagine creating such a wonderful composition with just about 4 lines of lyrics! And then have such amazing orchestration that only Rahman can achieve. 5. Barso re - cool breezy song, good rendetion, nice beat. Love the presence of gujarati garba (before the 1st para)..and the chorus singing (before the 2nd para). 6. Ek lo ek muft -- love the start -- its really playful. 7. Baazi laga -- even though it has one of my fav singers - Udit, still fail to be impressed by this track :( --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, bar yar [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: For me : 1: Jaagey Hain ( for Lyrics Rahman Bhai's Voice Tune) 2: Tere Bina (Best music and from chinnmayee's part to end) 3: Aye Haerathe Ashique (Lyrics Music) 4: Barso re (good melody) 5: Baazi laga (Udit Voice Music) 6:Maya Maya( Voice of Some Guy in Middle of song) 7:Ek lo Ek Muft (Funky Track) - Original Message From: karthikeyamurthy jayaraman [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, December 1, 2006 2:42:26 PM Subject: [arr] Your Favourite SOng In Guru hi friends lets discuss about our favourite song in GURU and the reason why we like it... Re: [arr] Your Favourite SOng In Guru
My favourite song is Tere Bina. Tere Bina has great lyrics with magical voice of ARR coupled with that of new comer Chinmayee's. Also the soothing music takes u completly to a new world. The alaap in between the song also is very catchy. A similar alaap which ARR had last sung in lukka Chuppi in RDB. The over all album is GR8!!! But this is one song that I can't resist listening to again again again . again.
