Re: [arr] Jai Ho pulse missing from Rahman's Games Hey-O
I feel there is a reason behind use of minimal instruments. It's going to performed in a stadium, he might have thought anybody shd be able bring the sound with minimal instruments they have. I'm completely satisfied with the instrumentation and it's a great idea for this kind of song. All you need here is to have the crowd sing along, I'm sure that's going to happen. Hey Ramesh, I can see you're a big fan of score/symphonic music! You've alluded to that indirectly many times here. I appreciate your refined tastes. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Arr Fan wrote: > > Ramesh - good one. Ramesh - good one. I second that ARR missed an golden opportunity to utilize a large orchestral work - it is indeed sad when people question if swagatham composed by our ARR worth $1million price tag? the magic in swagatham works for me now... but ARR could have gone for large orchestra and made it really very grand. I guess, I will wait for that day... Apparently none of the people complaining about the CWG song even bothered to check the theme song for 2006 Commonwealth Games. Here's Delta Goodrem singing Together We Are One Each host nation has a different interpretation of what they want in the theme song for CWG. They all don't have to be fast-paced and anthem-like. It depends on what the GoI or IOC wanted ARR to showcase in the song. Judge it based on the context. I had hoped to see a larger contribution from ARR towards the music of the CWG. It really was an opportunity to do a large orchestral work were he to score the Opening Ceremony. Score fans should seek out the cd to the 2006 CWG Opening Ceremony.
