Re: [arr] Re: ARR & RGV combo a possibilty again

2008-04-30 Thread Thulasi Ram
now, i second this point...
to me, RGV jus wants to complete a movie and release it.. his recent flops
are a HUGE example of his "directorial secret"...
i wish ARR joins hand with RGV only if its a project like sarkar raj.. i.e.
if the cast crew are good enough to draw audience.. else, ARRs effort may go
unnoticed.

i can still remember Rajiv Masand's review for RGV's sholay remake.. i cant
even imagine critics having -ve reviews for ARRs music just for choosing RGV
movie..

Re: [arr] Re: ARR & RGV combo a possibilty again

2008-04-30 Thread Adi
As much as I might want them to pair up I also feel that the possibility is
remote. Primarily because RGV has lost the faith of the producers by
consistently churning out senseless movies and worse - movies that did not
make commercial sense to the distributors and producers (I say that because
there are a number of senseless movies that are commercial hits!). And to
work with ARR, RGV will need to come up with a script that can win the
producers' trust back. And unless he has that financial backing he will not
be able to work with ARR. And let me now get out of my territory and tread
some dangerous parts by suggesting that ARR might not want to lower his fees
for RGV simply because of the risk that is involved in an RGV project
(Proof: Daud). Atleast if the movie fails, the money can be used for the
conservatory which is what ARR is doing by signing up endorsements (ToI),
tie-ups (Nokia) and doing live concerts within couple of days of each other
(Sharjah and ToI Chennai).

Having said all this, I would be the first one to queue up outside a
music store if the two paired up for a movie! :) I am a gone case, na?!! :)

Adi.
