Re: [arr] Re: Is using bass guitar unique to ARR?

2008-03-25 Thread Ganesh Narayanan
Mr.Thulasi Ram,
Agree there are new people who have begun to voice their opinion. Well i
joined the yahoo groups on upon the requests of Vithur and Kalyan. I used to
post regularly on the orkut ARR community, after which vithur had requested
me to post to the yahoo groups too. I was contemplating of joining the
discussions from a long time and it so hapenned that the day i decided to do
so, there was this question of whether Bass guitar is "unique" to ARRso
i jus felt that certain facts had to be cleared. If it had been abt ARR's
Bass works, i wldnt have brought IR into the discussion at all.
Newayz it felt nice to see a lot of active members participating in a lot
of sensible and thought provoking discussions. I do hope to join with some
of my posts soon. Just a bit held up this week with lots of office work.
Also yahoo blocked in my office, so Jus modified my settings so tht i cld
reply from Gmail.

Jus to introduce myself to u'll, i'm Ganesh from Mumbai.

Regards,
Ganesh

Re: [arr] Re: Is using bass guitar unique to ARR?

2008-03-24 Thread Kalimuthu
Yes... let's stop ;)

His question, which is - using bass guitar is unique to ARR, itself
brings MDs into picture. I belive there's nothing wrong in discussing
other MD's work in this regard.

Chord - Question for you: How are you able to bring up a new topic
every day? I am really surprised. :)

Re: [arr] Re: Is using bass guitar unique to ARR?

2008-03-23 Thread arr pavan
Dude ganesh n ! just join the preparatory course in ARR school which is open
to all ages, will help you to appreciate music indepth. Or there are music
professionals here. Mail your clarifications & they will refer to the songs &
timings for the words you need to know. Once you are used to such things from
different songs & after repeated listenings, you can help others.

Also another question to all my knowledgable fans.

I'm a novice when it comes to identifying raagas, Bass, jazz, harmony,
chords...etc in Rahman's songs. Could some1 please shed light on how
could a person who has little knowledge of Music Identify such
instances in his songs.

Regards,
Ganesh

got it raghu.. as a matter of coincidence, when i was reading ur mail,
khalbali song just started to play in my playlist and the electric guitar
(or synthesizer guitar stuff) in the beginning of the song is a perfect
example of ARRs mastery of music and technology... that bit is terriffic and
the percussion is absolutely mindblowing..

we can always hear "perfect" music and mix from ARR. he is a unique musical
genius

2008-03-22 Thread Thulasi Ram
Raghu! din expect this from u!!! any examples of that MD using an electric
guitar??? i've hardly heard his songs have any traces of guitar.. and it is
really surprising to hear that he used every possible version of guitar..
oops!~!

i dont know abt RDB but i think that one should agree that ARR uses ever
version of guitar or any other instrument in the best possible way it could
be handled..

ARR handles the sound even from a dolak in a more "professional" manner..
that's his amazing musical trait..

the song that immediately strikes my mind is "kannodu kanbedhellam".. the
melam percussion was handled in a serene way and it added so much beauty to
the song.. there is only one reason for that: it is ARRs magic!
