man, I got u what u r trying to say... Rythmn pattern (dont mistake it for
Rythm or Backgroud of song) of the line "Muthu Muthu siripu" and Airtel
Matches... but its is definitely not a copy or not even a inspiration...

Let me give you another example... listen to Titan ad music... and "Veetukku
Veettukku vaasapadi" song from Kizhakku Vaasal... they will have the same kind
rythmn pattern... Does that mean Ilayaraja copied Rahman ?

I feel it is just a rythm pattern matching and its is just co-incidence.

This link has that song...

There is a chorus line which goes:
"Muthu muthu sirippu..." (2 or 3 lines)

and then...
"Pakkathile neruppaa..." (2 or 3 lines)

Another example: The song "O Bhaavre..." (Daud) is inspired from the
song "O Saathi Re..."

Thanks.

Reason for writing such a harsh mail is that few websites are saying ARR
copied this beat & that beat.. And finally they're giving source as "AR
Rahman Yahoo! Fansclub". Its very shocking to hear that. Guyz are here in
the name of "ARR Fans" but not supporting him / appreciating his excellent
work & contribution to Indian Music. (I'm talking about only those few; not
all) I hope & wish this kind of stupid things will never happen again in
this forum.

Stupid discussion; horrible *Anti-Rahmaniacs*... Why the hell are they here?
If some of the members of this group accused someother MDs (HJ & others) for
copying other's tunes, go and attack them separately. Don't bring that
dispute to this forum.

Its really frustrating to go through this stupid topic. Lot of idiotic
suggestions & comments are going on.. Kids are talking about music, samples
& loops. What the hell are the guyz (who accuses ARR) thinking of them? Are
they great critics of music Grow up, guyz.. Don't make stupid comments

PS: Sorry, if it hurts anybody who accused ARR & his music. If they really
felt hurted, plz leave this group immediately and leave us in peace.

guys

yes yes yes gu i m 250 % sure that has lifted songs; he has lifted indian
songs to an intenational level...

p.s: do not get me wrong guys pls try to understand my feeling. i fell
extremely sorry for the guys who claim them selves as a.r.raman fan but do
not understand his music at all. for years he has given such joys with music
but we so called a.r. rahman fans are talking about such things which is
merely a coinsidence. if u want to know what is song lifting then pls listen
to Ashique(this is the movie tht is coming to my mind) music or some
composition by mr. anu malik or mr. pritam...

i think this matter is like Sachine Tendulkar. For years this legend has
played one after one classic.inngs. but now we everybody doubt his ability
if he fails one or two inngs.

pls guys stop this nonsense. if you think he has lifted songs and you made
mistake by becoming his fan no one is stopping you to leave this group.

WE HAVE LOT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO TALK ABOUT LIKE HIS NEXT HIT MOVIE
SONGS OR HIS NEXT INTERNATIONAL VENTURE.
THANKS

Airtel tune?Absurd..
tell me Mr. Brain, why would some one search a song and just use a 10 second
sequence from a song to compose some thing which is now a historic tune..I
guess people who accuse must some time use their grey matter.

Just see the tempo of the Muththu Muththu sirippu part and the airtel tune

Just because some bald fellow comments in aTV program (Baski in Vijay TV), do
not vomit the same thing here again.

This makes me why , why did IR use this part of the tune (muthu muthu
sirippu...in a song where the original starting tune is different as it goes
"deepankal pesum".

Vitta AE la vara "janagana mana" songum, national anthem lendu dhaan copy
adichadhu nu solveenga.

 http://tamilcinema.dk/songs/songview.asp?songid=1234

There is a chorus line which goes:
"Muthu muthu sirippu..." (2 or 3 lines)

 and then...
"Pakkathile neruppaa..." (2 or 3 lines)

Another example: The song "O Bhaavre..." (Daud) is inspired from the
 song "O Saathi Re..."

2007-08-01 Thread Praba
Audio Samples Used by ARR:

Rahman is the first person who used a lot of samples in his songs and the
second person is Ranjit Barot. Ranjit used to work with rahman and Ranjit
programmed drums in HUMMA HUMMA. Now everybody is using samples in mumbai
(Salim-Sulaiman, Sandeep Sherodker, jacky, inderjeet sharma, ram sampat &
sandeep chowta) if you guys think that how can sandeep chowta make sound
like rahman? there are samples.

Here are some examples:

1] Shabba Shabba [Daud] with african voices? Those are samples not real
africans voices.

2] Spanish claps in Jumbalika [Thakshak]? Samples again.

3] Chinese vocals in Latka [Hindustani]? Its a chinese sample from the cd
(SPECTRASONICS HEART OF ASIA)

4] Killer drum beats in rangeela songs? Drum samples from the cd (BEST
SERVICE XXL 1500) and its a long list.

5] Final beats of Mukkala Muqabla [Kadhalan] sounds like dr.alban africa.
Samples again.

6] Beats in Mangta Hai Kya [Rangeela]

7] Early bands like Deep Forest and some Euro techno bands used this concept
a lot. Thats why title sound of Thillana Thillana [Muthu] sounds like Deep
forest songs

There are many other samples rahman used in many of his songs. It is not
copying just using a commercially available samples!

Godi..

What're you trying to say here? HJ is better than ARR. HJ's music is better
than ARR's. Is is so You just added "BOSS" in front of all your
"allegations / complaints". The way you explained looks like this. You're
praising ARR but actually you're accusing him. I don't know how to put it
right in English. But in Tamil, we've onething in our grammer which is
"Vanja Pugalchi Ani". It means that you'll scold the person as if you're
praising and vice-versa. You did the same here. Try 2 grow up, dude...

See, there're many guyz entered this forum. Good 2 have constructive
arguments about ARR's music. But this case is not at all valid to be
discussed. These samples are meant to be used. If these samples are not
used, how come the person who sells this will survive? Commercially, there
is nothing wrong in using samples. They'll not be treated as lift. Try to
grow up, dudes...

Plz put an end to this stupid topic.

Cheers,
Siraj

I agree with KunalWould you say that because somebody had the "Theen
taal" (tabla) in a song...nobody else can use it. If somebody else used it,
would you actually be shocked. Its just a sequence of beats / notes. The true
gift would be using it a place where it sounds not just good but great.

People make Loop CDs and sample banks specially for composers to use in
their music. I dont think there is any composer in the world who has worked

2007-07-30 Thread Thulasi Ram
hey siraj.. that guy is in the group as a silent user and he has mailed to
this group after finding 'so called' sample similarity. he should have heard
munbae vaa before and he should have liked the song but he did not feel to
mail about the beauty of the song. now he is jumping out saying he has found
a similarity.. why should we care about someone who is not ready to share
the proof with us?? may be he might have heard the similarity
in his dreams.. what say???!!!

lets encourage our group members who discuss ALL aspects +ve aspects and -ve
aspects (if any)... obviously, we have to encourage those members who share
+ve aspects of ARR and lets have brickbats to those who pop-up in our group
just to share some irrelevant news... the example u have given in ur mail
is very apt why his news is irrelevant..

Hey Krishna,

This is stated in your first mail
"I like you guys to hear these samples, but pls give me a good link
where i can upload these files."

In your second mail,
"Since there are rights on the samples, i may not upload these files. If I
do then I'm in violation wih these rights!"

See, there is a conflicts in your own statements. If you're really true,
first share it and talk about it. We, as Music Listeners & Lovers, are not
afford to buy those CDs to cross check. Even, if its used by ARR, there is
officially nothing about it. Those samples are made for that purpose only.

Mind before you post such things.

Cheers,
Siraj

People make Loop CDs and sample banks specially for composers to use in their
music. I dont think there is any composer in the world who has worked without
samples and loops. When it is made specially for them... why not use it ???

A silent user here (but also a composer),

Hi guys and girls,

Me as a omposer do use lots of samples, not in all my music. Ofcourse

I'm not the only one who uses these samples.

Last month I bought a sample bank: Uberschall - Da Nu RnB, Hip Hop

Drum Loops and Samples.

I was really glad hearing these awesome samplestill suddenly I

heard a simmilarity between a sample song called "Hip Harp" and Munbe

Munbe Vaa!!!

I was really shocked, it was like A. R. Rahman used these samples but

played them in adifferent range! it sounds like a complete lift! Even

the beat measure of this sample is a clear copy of the rythm used by

A. R. Rahman in "Munbe Munbe Vaa"!!!

I like you guys to hear these samples, but pls give me a good link

where i can upload these files.

Warning : DO NOT GET SHOCKED HEARING THESE SAMPLES, THESE SAMPLES ARE

MADE BEFORE A. R. RAHMAN'S "MUNBE MUNBE VAA"!!!

I can say, that everybody uses samples, wheter they are beats or

sounds. Every producers gets inspired by some samples. Even A. R.

Rahman, the biggist composer of these times, uses samples in his

music arts.

Do not reply stupidness untill you heared these samples, otherwise you

are fooling yourself and others. First listen to the sample and then

give you're opinion.

Sorry for my bad English:P

Krishna

Hey Guy

Can u also prove us dat the sample was created before Munbe Vaa???

Raj <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
  Hi Krishna,

You state that you are a composer and that you "use" the samples.
But you state that ARR lifted & copied the samples. In tat case are
your songs lifted and copied songs? Wait read thru my post fully and
then decide to blast me later.

Now what i am trying to say is that you should just think before
you post bro.How could ARR copy or lift a sample when that sample is
being sold as a royalty free sample in which its main purpose is to
be used in songs,TV, films or where ever musically needed. Maybe you
didnt know how to put it.Just say ARR "used" so n so samples.
Recently i read an article in behindwoods where they stated copied
stuffs from composers, while other composers had directly lifted and
copied from other songs(the tune) Our man ARR is also in the list
but for "copyin" samples!! Its about time we as musicians and being
fans of ARR explain this to others.Rather then just calling he
copied.It's really very lame.

No offence to you buddy..btw what kinda songs do you compose and
where r u located at? Am a composer too.Mail me we could talk abt
music compositions.

Cheers
Raj
